<p>I have been using the 350D / Rebel XT with the 24- 105 and on a tripod mount it never felt completely stable. I recently upgraded to the 50D and it feels like a much better distribution with that lens weight wise.</p>

<p>Thanks for the responses. Canon offered £50 off the 40D last time around which would be an adequate rebate for me.<br>

If Canon don't provide any incentives to buy new kit then it will affect their margins during the downturn. Better to make something than nothing right?</p>

<p>I am looking to upgrade from a 350D to a 40D/50D and wondered whether anyone knows when the next cashback offer is set to run? I know Canon do about two per year in the UK.<br>

Shooting with a 350d (but soon to be 50d once the reviews start coming in) I use the 24-105L. It produces fantastic IQ, is light, versatile and good value for money. I also have the Canon 100mm macro but need some more practice with it.

Been using the 100mm for a couple of months and it fulfills all of my needs. AF rarely hunts, it isn't too heavy and the image quality is oustanding.

Thanks for all your input. I have learned a lot from your responses. Robin, I knew once I'd received the macro kit that the quality was poor and I was hoping for adequate as a opposed to exceptional results. The person who recommended the kit uses it with a 50 mm 1.8; suits that lens more I'd imagine.

 

I think I will just return the kit and look to get a Macro lens down the line.

It is a screw on filter type connection. It was a ?15 kit with a +1 +2 +4 and macro.

 

I have tried focusing on just about anything with the macro and it is just a blur.

Have just received a macro close up kit today for use with a 24-105 on a 350D. I

have put the macro lens on and it is just blurred through the viewer. Is there

something I have missed?

Just says on the back of the voucher "make a photocopy of the proof of purchase, it doesn't mention purchase from authorised Canon dealers.

Hi all,

 

If you purchase a second hand lens off Ebay (in this instance an EF 10-22) which

is used but comes in an original box, can you still use the money off voucher?

Has anyone done this?
