I really like the coloring as well, very bright and vivid. Visually it seems to brighten my screen all by itself. And with the low clouds I get a sense that I'm there overlooking the hills. Great shot.

Hey Mike I like your crop. After re-reading Jerry's thought's on the horizon and looking at your crop, I think the dynamic really changes. The sky to me takes over the pic and gives it a larger presence. I suppose I never considered cropping it, as the sky and ground were so evenly represented and it seemed "equal" or something. Regardless I like the crop and will go back and work with it. I definitely appreciate everyone's thoughts so far and would like to hear more thoughts!

Great shot managing to get the birds head in pretty good focus for an action shot. I like how the two subjects are the focus with the shallow DOF.

Fun! Looks like he/she's ready to pounce on another dog in the background.

I went out to Yucca Valley area and had originally planned on going to

Joshua Tree National Park, but found a small dirt road that led to a

nature preserve in the Yucca Valley area. This is a shot looking over

it. Would love your thoughts!

Like the transition from light to dark from top to bottom. Really like the solitary feeling, and if I hadn't read the others critiques, I may never have noticed the dark spot, but for me not that distracting.

I think this is a great composition. I think the colors work for me. I've seen some amazing sunsets at the beach, so I don't think this looks over done at all. To me, there is a great contrast between the cold grey rocks and the colorful warm sky on the horizon.

I love the wide angle lens on this.

I love how in one sense it's this barren forgotten home, while at the same time bursting at the seams with everyday clutter.
