    The Men's Race

This is a beautiful shot. It is well framed, well composed and well exposed. A way to improve the shot would have been to have either totally blurred the crowd or then render it in details.

    Hi Perry.

Nice shot. One comment: use the rule of third in your composition. It makes the shot more dynamic. And in this case, I think you could have crop a little tighter.

  1. I would have cropped to the shoulder on the left side and burn in the left hand and forearm, and the towel. Eyes on the tooth, towel in the mouth and tooth between the fingers should jump out bodly. It's a wonderful little snaphsot and it's honest and fresh. It's perfect as it is but it could have been a lot more. Please keep on documenting these priceless rites of passage and sharing them with us.
  2. The intoxication of speed. Universal. Timeless. Ageless. This photo reminded me of the french movie Amelie where Amelie grabs hold a blind man and gives him the rush of his life.

    Very well done.

This photo lifted me up and dropped me in the desert. The uneven color of the background distracts a little and a little empty space at the top would have helped anchor the compostion. Difficult subject and effective treatment.

Great model. Good placement. Beautiful lighting. Subtle, natural, intimate. A highlight in the eyes would have added to the raw power of the portrait but I do not know if this could have been accomplished without destroying the delicate balance of the lighting.
