Hello,
I recently purchased an old Linhof-220. Everything seems to be working, the
film advance is fine. The lens doesn't have scratches or marks. The problem
is - the images don't seem to be very sharp and are a bit soft, especially
when I shot at apertures 3.5-4-5.6. I know that this lens is supposed to
deliver very sharp negatives and assume that probably the rangefinder is a bit
off ( it doesn't surprise me, since the rangefinder has some mirror
decolorising and certainly needs to be cleaned and adjusted.) Now the
question is - who can do CLA for such a rare camera? If someone can recommend
to me an experienced Linhof technician - I would greatly appreciate it if you
could let me know.
Thank you in advance,
Mikhail

Is it possible to adapt via some adaptor Rolleiflex SL66 lenses to
the Pentax-67 body? I'd like to have the Sonnar 150mm lens on my
Pentax
Thanks.

Some of my old nudes (2001 and earlier) you can find on this my old site. I have MUCH more... The only subject in photography I'm interested (and experienced) is people (not only nudes, but portraits, frankly, I prefer portraits much more - a classic style b&w ones...) The problem with the galleries here in Vancouver... there aren?t any - maybe just one, but this one is closed most of the times. I tried to show my nudes to restraints owners, but they are too conservative here... they afraid to put the nudes on the walls...
I have a day time job to pay my bills (I work as a research associate in a chemical lab) - the only trouble with this job is - I'm too tired after this job do my photography... and it doesn?t give a lot of money - just enough to pay bills, nothing extra. That is the reason I try to commercialize my passion - photography, but I get a very little success so far...

Maybe someone can give me some fresh ideas... I have a long
experience in b&w photography, portraits, nudes, etc. Since I'm an
immigrant with a so-so English - my attempts to start a portrait (
studio) business in Canada were not successful ( it is totally
understandable- people just don?t want to do a business with a not
fluently speaking person and the work of a portrait photographer is
80% - communication, marketing, etc.
I can sell my nudes on E-bay and do it quite often, but the prices
there are VERY small. Usually I'm able to sell an 11x14 nude for $
40.00-$ 50.00 (fiber based hand printed, spotted, signed picture,
usually toned in sepia or gold toner). After the auction fees and
paper and chemicals and... you can see that this selling on E-bay -
it is more for fan.
I have about 50-60 good nudes, which, I think can be exhibited in
galleries, but so far no one gallery was interested... locks like
they are not interested in finding new talents at all..
Maybe someone can give me some new ideas, how I can make some
additional money with my art?

Do you know a stock agency, which accepts nudes?

Dave, one more hint with the soft-focus 120mm lens - try aperture 4.5-5.6-6.3, not 3.5-4 ( too soft). I regularly set 5.6, sometimes 8.

Mikhail

One more nude (sorry!) - the example of Heliar 150mm F 4.5 (aperture was about 8), attached to my Pentax-67 via the helicoid adapter. You can see how gental is this lens...
Delta-400, two flashes with umbrellas.

Dave, it looks like good bokeh and good sharpness is almost impossible to achieve at the same time... You may try some old lenses, like Heliar or Apo-Lanthar, attached through the helicoid adapter. It will be a bulky device, but the bokeh these old lenses can give you probably will be impossible to get with the modern lenses...

Just one example of using this lens ( NUDE):

sorry, BOKEH!

Hello!
First of all sorry if my English is not perfect. I'd like to know
the opinions regarding the 165 f2.8 lens. I have the Pentax 67-2
and.. just one lens - the Pentax 120mm soft. I'd like to buy a
sharp portrait lens. As I know the Pentax has two lenses: 160: 2.8
and 165 F 4 LS. I'd like to get the sharpest lens possibvle. I
used to have the Rollei-6001 camera and the 150/4 Tele-Xenar and
sort of get spoiled by this wondeful lens... Can I exspect some
similar performance with 165/2.8 lens? ( I was really inpressed not
only with perfect sharpness and contrast of the Tele-Xenar, but with
it's wonderful bikeh, almost Leica- like...)
Thanks a lot,
Mikhail

Thank you for the adresses. I'm in Canada - so, it doesn't matter where to send ( G.B. US or Germany). I'll contact them to find out the price, and if they have spare parts, etc. It seems to me that the rangefinder needs repairing.
