I Live in Chicago and just published my first co-authored book with my brother. it is business/ leadership. The short answer is publishing is a joke! the long version is we spent 1 1/2 years mailing 50 pages to every " free thinking" " we want something new" publisher. we had an offer that gave us %5 of the sale price of every book ( about 90 cents) We spent tons of $$ sending copies to the publishers. Skip that step and goto lightning source ( .com) and publish your own book buy your own ISBN # and that should feed the book into Amazon.com Tadaaaah!

MY 2 cents,

NAPP is great! lets say for the magazine alone, $10x 12 months-the $100 is a deal. The discounts that you get even if you just use one can save you a couple bucks, and the information is very helpful ( esp if you work with graphics also..)

I have noticed lately that they will split an article and give the longer one to members only.

I think it is worth it.

I shot a RAW Photo with my D70 cropped it, then made a 24x36. It worked well ( hangs on my wall today) .
