I just came here for a good rant. I've loaded M6s/M7s, played with it. But not really my thang. I use G2s thats my preference. Also had an Mamiya 7ii which is similar handling to the M6. Came here and wanted fed back as to how Leica
users feel that the M8 isnt full frame. If I own an M8 and previous to that I had, I had 6s and 7s. I would be annoyed. All
my 50mm and 35mm suddenly became short teles. Then Wouldnt I have to re-invest in some wider lenses to go back to
what I wanted? wouldnt anyone be annoyed.

Leica's Products are develop and made by panasonic. So I guess that was the rabbit. But it is interesting to see what else
is in the pipe lines.

WOW Guys!!! Thanks for the input. Yeah 5D is great!! Leica M8 rather disappointed. M7, M6 Lovely camera (wished it
had a digital Version) but thats not the M8. Thats for someone else that I work for. Me a G2 kinda guy/ 1DS mkii and and
bunch of other gear. I work as a professional assistant, some of these guys can plonk down money to buy the gear. Thats
those guys, us guys of course we research and consider the pros and cons. I am rather disappointed that it isnt FF.

When a photographer buys into a system like this you assume that you lenses fit the new system and the Bodys work the
same way just like the old days, except during the days of AF.
-
Thanks Stuart, Thats a really good explanation, I dont use teh Leica myself, but just feel a bit guilty as photographer spent
money with expectation without doing research assuming that a Marque like Leica made FF cameras. Its all good and well
if you want monster lenses. But this wasnt the case.
-
I am just disappointed. A photographer just had to re-sell his M8 kit cause he was on the assumption that it was Full frame
like his M6 was. Live and Learn witha big hole in the pocket. I too assumed that it was full frame. I think that Leica has
the technology to make the M8 FF. Even with vignetting which I find rather romantic.
-
I was a bit shocked to find out that the Leica M8 isnt Full Frame chip. How are you guys getting on with it?
-
The running cost of 10x8 is an expensive one. My 10x8 I still have loads of film and polaroid sitting around, waiting to be
used.

I really hate the new blads so badly made. But you cant take one on a job to glastonbury.

I can tell you right now, that a few pros are thinking of jumping ship and trade in there 1ds Mkii for the D3 instead of
upgrading to the Mkiii. They've tested them out and they are absolutely impressed. For me its about time Nikon made a
full size chip and canon can do something about it. So canon my wish list for a MK IV DS would be......
-
Personally I think Nikon is right up there at the moment. Nikon's Hi ISO ability way surpasses Canons. Pixel count isnt
everything. I know a few pros are swaying in the direction of the D3.

I love Contax cameras and I love old F3 HPs. Now CZ make lens for the nikon mount. Best of both worlds.
-
yeap, EF 70-200 f2/8 BUT I prefer the non IS version.
-
zeiss is a different game altogether. The new zeiss are value for money in my opinion. I can trade off the AF for a split
screen. No one makes split screens for 5Ds do they?
-
its just a measurement, eg IS gives you an extra 2 stops. you was probably shooting at 1/125 now you can go down to
1/30 with IS..... does that sound about right?
-
I would say go with the primes you say except the 100mm f2 go with either the 85 1.8 of the 100mm macro. These are
way cheaper than L-series BUT they arent that bad. They are sharper than your L-series zooms, IMHO.

Hi Nedine,
I use photo guard. I've never made a claim(touch wood). But the cover seems pretty good. I pay monthly on my policy.
-
thanks alot guys for your time to confirming all this. Not really important to taking pics but just bugged me a bit.

The F3 I've always known is the F3 HP with the MD4, one of my best buddies got one, one who actually takes pictures and
a friends father who has one, mint from new. I have shot with there cameras, it just feels so good in the hand. I just knew
that the F3 was a box with loads of optional add ons. It just got to me last night cause a friend was looking for an F3 on
ebay and wanted a mint one. I'm no nikon expert and personally its irrelevant. If the F3 came in gold he would probably
buy it but if the prices was right.
Thanks guys thought I was going mad.

If your collecting i guess your not shooting. I bought a fairly battered one with intent to buy to abuse. each to their own.

He is def talking about HP. It seem rather silly about this "Pure HP". He describes like cut and shunt, when you have 2
damage cars one from the rear and one from the front joined together. I said "whatever, like its really gonna help you take
better pictures if its a "Pure HP". Like michael said pure a HP finder on any F3 VOLA!! F3 HP no? or did I miss
something. Made a quick search around found nothing. So I am assuming that he is just be excessively pedantic, for no
reason. Or some "Pure Nikon-Zealot". I just bought a used one on ebay as I always fancied one as I was growing up as a kid.
-
I've recently purchase a Nikon F3 "HP". A friend tells me that he wants one that is a Pure F3 HP, I am assuming that the original owner
walked out of the shop with the HP finder attached. He also tells me that you can distinguish an F3 from an F3 HP by looking at the serial
digits. Is this true? Its driving me a bit nuts. I personally dont care. Not particularly brand loyal, but I do love certain cameras and the F3
was one of them.

The is suppose to be this 5x4 lens adapter plate, you can team that up with another adapter plate for the digi back with a V
fit mount. Then you might as well use a 5x4 view camera. just dont want to let my Fuji's go. They are great cameras.
