Experimenting with street portrait photography, your feedback is
welcome.

Thanks Vezio and Svetlana.

Thanks Hans and Grayham.
I am and I always was very much impressed by elephants, their strenght, stamina and look, their intelligence and social skills, so the picture reflects it, at least that really was the intention. The elephants, rhinos and all the wildlife didn't have it very easy in Zim during the last decade - for obvious reasons, I suppose. I hope things will get better.

Thank you for nice words.
I took altogether 3 pictures of this guy in the same setting - not a burst, but one just after the other. This one is the first one - it was taken just before he managed to put on his face the expression he wanted to present and which he thought represented him best. I think that his real self is in fact mirrored here: aware of being about to be photographed, but not yet in control and ready for the act.
Best regards.

This is nice. And if the pole was sharp straight vertical it would be even nicer.

Not very typical portrait of an immigrant worker.
A Moroccan guy who moved to Brussels, got a job with a Brazilian boss selling Cuban liquors to Belgian (an international) visitors of weekend markets.
The photo is taken from the inside of his vintage small red bus, which serves as a mobile kiosk.

Well, over the time I keep wondering, whether someone (or everyone?) has noticed the picture the butcher has on his shirt.

Taken on the outskirts of Harare on the road going north. It was early Saturday afternoon, people started to get together.
Comments are welcome.

Photograph taken in Mana Pools area of Zimbabwe, a drying riverbed of a minor tributary to the Zambezi river. Mana Pools Zambezi valley is a continuation of the Great African Rift valley.

A close up picture / detail of the Church of Nossa Senhora de Baluarte in Fort Sao Sebastiao, Ilha de Mocambique. Built in 1522 and considered the oldest European building in the southern hemisphere.
Comments are welcome.

I hope you don't mean "horrific" :-)
I am satisified (I should perhaps be frank and say, I am very satisfied) with this picture. It needs a while to absorb it, I assume. But then it offers so much more. It is not only what appears on the surface.
Thanks for having a look.

Thanks Vezio for your interest and suggestions.
I have tried various things with this picture, but never to crop a single pixel from it. I may push myself into trying it - just as an experiment to see how things go, but most likely I will keep the frame as it is. For me, this picuture is about the tree as much as it is about the texture of the rock.
Best regards

Fine picture telling "It is autmn". Simple statement, but often, we do not need anything more.
I like the idea, the tonal / colour contrast between foreground and background and also the as if arch and vault implied by the trees in the background. And I agree, the imperfections in the leaf are fine too - a hint to the slow decay leading to the winter sleep.

I have tried several times already in the past years to convert this picture from its colour original to BW and was never quite satisfied: it is a test case for me - to see what I can or yet cannot do in the art of BW conversion - which I consider to be an art discipline per se.
Exacly 7 years have passed since taking this photo - so it is the 7th Anniversary Edition.
I would very much appreciate, if you coud have a look at this version and appreciate even more, if you could also compare it with its colour predecessor (easy to find in my portfolio here) and let me know, whether or not this picture works for you this way or what would you eventually suggest.
Thanks for your time.
