JPF is the file extension for a JPEG 2000 file. Not sure why it switched to using this.

Thanks for the answers. Had I been a little more aware, I'd of noticed this question asked just a few threads before mine. Considering what I've read here and elsewhere, I'm really thinking I do not need the extra 100mm that the 70/75 lens provides, considering it goes soft/dark at that length. I'm shooting kids Hockey, and a quick focus is what I need as well as a decent f stop. I'm looking at the 70-210 d, which is seems to be a better lens for what I'm after. Any thoughts on this lens?

I currently have the Nikon 70-300G, which isn't very much of a lens. I'm

looking to replace it, Merry Christmas to me, and I have seen and read some good

things about the older 75-300. Price for both is about the same, so it comes to

a question of optics. Things seem split about which is better, so, I'm looking

for someone with hands on experence with both. Or a good suggestion for

something else entirly. My budget is around $300. Thank for any info you can give,
