    Robert,

I like this image; it made me stop and take a second look. Shooting from a different angle to include the window but moving the glass more off center would be my preference.

  1. Jennifer, Since the subject's feet are cut off, would the image have more impact if it was cropped from the top to the bottom of the white fence? I like the warm glow of the late afternoon sun.
  2. I agree with the previous comment. The girl needs some fill light from a flash or reflector board. Some work in photoshop come improve the lighting on the girl but it would not be as good as having proper lighting when the image was taken. The composition and colours make for a very good image except as noted.

This menacing looking beetle is a male Meloe Angusticollis - Blister Beetle, I believe. I like this image for the colours and composition even though the eyes are hidden.

Although I did not rate this image I like it because it has such great possibilities. IMHO, the background needs to be less cluttered with colours, the highlights and contrast should be toned done and more DOF (depth of field) is needed. I think the busyness of the OOF (out of focus) areas does distract from the subject. But, I really like the composition.

Peter, Nicely done! The ring light reflection in the eyes has been a quandary for me - leave them in, take them out or replace them. But in this image, the reflections seem to add to it. I like it.

Technically near perfect but I think a bit softer light or some more fill light from the right would make an improvement. Also, I would like to see the stem sharp from bottom to top. To be honest, I just about bypassed this image, but it drew me in for a closer look.Very nice!
