I think most of your questions can be answered by going to the Canon web site and reading.

It looks like a moving walkway, like you see in airports, both the subject and the photographer are on the moving walkway and you use a slightly longer than normal shutter speed to blur the background while keeping your subject in focus.

I would suggest that you go to a camera store, they have different models, and listen to them in person, then you can make an informed decision if they are too loud for you and you can find the one that you like the best.

Welcome to the 21st century. BTW, there are satellites up yonder that can read license plates, and x-ray machines that can see through clothing!

Frank,
What are you rambling about? Your quote - "What if your project were called "glaciers", or "high altitude", or "desert". Who assigns you these non-serquitur tasks and does not supply travel money to where the task can be executed? Why do you follow this nonsense assign person?" Who said anything about a project or being assigned to a task? Maybe, just maybe, this is personal, recreational, not an "assignment". Maybe Ramana is in town on other business. Maybe Ramana isn't from this area and is asking for some help and guidance from someone that might know the local area. Attacking someone like you did serves no purpose except to show others what you are really like. I'm sorry that you felt compelled to "offer help" when you didn't have any help to offer. Looking at your other recent posts shows the same trend, negative comments and belittling people. If you don't have anything positive to say, why add the negative? Giving negative responses to legitimate questions doesn't help, can it, will it? Sorry you responded!

Scott,
Nice lighthouse on Hunting Island, and stop by the Shrimp Shack, on US-21, heading to Hunting Island, Forest Gump was filmed in the area. Also on the way to HHI, on US-278, there is a place called Pinckney Wildlife Refuge, you might find some birds there. Also in HHI is a very good restaurant called the Hofbrauhaus, excellent German food and beer, 30+ years. There are usually some Marine Corp Jets flying around in the area by Marine Air Base, over in Beaufort. Over in Savannah is Fort Pulaski National Monument, Tybee Island lighthouse, in downtown Savannah-beautiful old buildings. If your in the mood for some good southern cooking in Savannah try Paula Dean's The Lady & Sons, can't be beat. Good Luck and have fun, the low country is a great place.

Hi Ramana,
This is my stomping grounds and, I'm afraid Matt is right, there are no waterfalls in the JAX area. The closest you are going to find any waterfalls is up in NE Georgia by SC. For other sites for wildflowers try the Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge, Cumberland Island National Seashore, and Jacksonville Zoo. Also this time of year there aren't a lot of wildflowers in bloom here. Contact me if you want more info.

Elwood,
I would recommend going to Watkins Glen State Park, it is a beautiful gorge you can walk down or up and very scenic. Also in the area is Montour Falls and there is also Seneca Lake. There are alot of fine shops in the village and excellent places to eat. Watkins Glen is where Formula 1 races used to be held, so there is some history of racing there also. Here are some links if you want to check it out before you head up that way.

Have fun and take alot of photos.

Corri,
Why not take the direct approach and ask your NEIGHBOR why she sent her children down the road? Tell her no hard feelings and to be honest, you would just like to know so you can improve your business. Afterall, she is the one who made the choice to go somewhere else, not anyone here. All we can do is guess why, she can tell you why. Besides, you never can tell, you might get the answer you are looking for. Good luck.

Eddie,
Why is it that when someone gives you a 3/3 they are being "spiteful or just trying to drop someone's ratings"? Could it be that they just did not like the photo, did not like the content of the photo, did not like the why the photo was lighted, ect... You should be happy that someone took the time to at least rate your photos, even if you don't agree with the rating. You can't please everyone all of the time, and it is a big world out there to try and please them all. Just my thoughts. By the way, you do have some nice photos.

Deb,
Here are a few ideas for you: Castillo de San Marcos National Monument, maybe the Bridge of Lions(under repair), St. Augustine Lighthouse, Alligator Farm(birds and such), and old town. It's a beautiful city to stroll around. There are also some nice parks located nearby for birds and the ocean. Have fun, enjoy, and don't forget the sunscreen. Milton

Where do you live? This could help out in the ID of the bird.

I'd drive over to Beaufort, and head out US-21 towards the coast, eat lunch at the Shrimp Shack, stop by Hunting Island State Park, They have a lighthouse also. A lot of the movie Forest Gump was filmed over there. Old Town Beaufort is nice also.
-
You could try Old Town San Diego, Coronado Island (some nice vistas), Point Loma, Sea World, and of course you could visit Tijuana Mexico, always some good photos there.

Jenifer,
Don't know if you would be interested in this or not but just inside Alabama state line on I-10 is the USS Alabama Battleship Memorial Park. It is a nice place with various aircraft and a WW-II Submarine, the USS Drum.
Remote use of 30D?

Dakotah,
I would suggest you look at some of these before you put your 30D outside in the elements, it might not do so good in the wet.
