1.
O yes!
probably my worst experience ever!,Wedding in Winter,-7 degrees, had to shoot indoors
no one would help, everbody was an expert and nobody would own up to who they where!.
this was many years ago for a now defunct Wedding company i requested to miss this gig after meeting the happy couple, but, they could not find anybody else.Certain members of the family did want to be in the Photographs which
was considered my fault. The Bride resorted to loud sarcastic remarks about how the Photographs would be rubbish etc.I stuck with it and left to what i hoped would be a quick Divorce for the newlyweds.I learnt more from this Wedding than 50 good ones and was not put off.Now i would just pack my bags and walk out.Trust me i have never known such ghastly bad mannered people,i've actually toned down how awful it was.
need a lie down now!

  2. Hello,

I have been sticking to the Price i charge for the past 2 years(approx ?1000/$2000)

Bookings have been on the slide,a couple mentioned i was double the rate some Photographers

in my area were charging.I researched general Pricing of other Photographers and indeed many

are now much cheaper and some are now including Albums at cost!.

Any ideas which way to go on this?

  4. Hello,

I work with the other Photographer, because we have similar styles.

The last thing she needs is the problem of finding a Photographer so late in the Day.

As her Contract stipulates another Photographer can take her Place.

I have worked at the Location and i can at a push not Photograph Shoes if it is

    an issue!

They may have a problem with the situation, but, they may end up with no Photographer

as they are only getting 1/2 the Fee(the Photographer)

Thank you for your kind thoughts and words.

Although i am not sure what the Art Gallery reference is all about.

  5. Hi,

I was asked to cover a Wedding for a Fellow Photographer who is unwell,in 4 Weeks.

After looking at my Website, they said they would prefer someone who didn't Photograph

Shoes(i have one image of a childs shoes!) it makes you wonder what goes through couples

minds.Has anybody else had Baffling Feedback?

  6. Hi Steve,

It is estimated that up to 50% of all Wedding Photography is undertaken by those who

do not rely on Photography as ther main source of income;already have employment,

part-timers, the unemployed(?),Retired, the figures also included Photographers that work in

    other disciplines(which,ithink,confuses the %)

I know of a Police Photographer in my area who regularly does Weddings.(i am sure She pays

    her Taxes!)

  7. Sadly it has become a real problem.

It is normal for guests to have the same Camera as me,sometimes better!

A few years ago a Hassleblad would afford you free passage.

Guests also freely talk about the Photographer as if he is deaf.

As the late Bob Carlos Clarke said "Photographers have dropped below

Estate Agents and Provincial DJ's for respect"(big respect to those 2 of course)

  8. Hi was doing a Wedding Yesterday, very hot day.

Nikon D200+Lexar 1GB Pro compact flash,

midway through using the Card it stopped working when i removed the card it was hot.

A,is this normal and B,is this the reason it shut down.

All the images were fine and Card working again.

  9. Hi Gary,

I don't judge anybody on appearance(hopefully they don't judge me on mine!)

    First come first served.

Photographers promote there business with there best work,as Weddings

are Fashion led you will generally only see the 'perfect couples'

which is probably 5% of Weddings.

One of the Weddings i am most looking forward to this year is a couple who readily

admit they would not win a beauty contest, but, are terrific fun and

    and make everbody smile.

  10. Hi,

I have just purchased the software for jorgensen, only to find it needs

    1gb of memory.

I work on imac g4 256mb which handles photoshop cs fine.

They suggested i buy a new computer!

Am i the only photographer using such a modest machine?

    I assume they would like to supply as many Photographers as possible;

    has anybody had similar problems?

Does this kind of software have to be so greedy?
