1. I have just rescued a p11

A good clean inside and out

The rubber? Wheel was very hard and glazed so gently cleaned the rim with emery cloth and then with MEK a rubber rejuvenate chemical

It was quite a bit better but still not perfect.

If i helped the solonoid it was snappy and perfect

Measuring the voltage across the solonids it was only 15v dc and if the reverse solonoid was used at the same time it dropped to 12v

So i added a 100uf cap across the dc side of the bridge rectifier

The whole machine is now perfect

  2.
This may sound a daft question but what size is 5x4 film?
I'm a new guy to large format Just bought a calumet 5x4 with backs
Bought a pack of Ilford FP4
Took a sheet out of the pack to familiarise myself with loading etc
It loads in the backs ok

I also bought a johnson Nebro film tank advertised as being for plates or cut film up to 5x4
The tank has end cheeks one way round has slots for what i imagine are glass plates the other side has wiggly
slots for which i imagined are for film use
However the film is too short to fit between the slots
the tank has multiple slots to take the end cheeks but only the outer 2 are anywhere near 5 "

If the film was 5" long it looks like it would fit but my FP4 is only 4 7/8 's long or 123mm Has 5x4 film ever been 5x4"
my FP4 is 3 7/8 wide

So my question is whats my cheapest option for developing film in daylight? if my tank is no good

  3.
Which plugs?
The bolts are just to hold the back on to stop it coming off accidentley or someone taking it off and scratching the glass or stealing it

No idea on the history just came off ebay
I knew about reseau plates from hasselblads moon cameras but had always assumed that the marks would be clearer to see with ones eyes...it was only after catching the glass in the light that they can be seen

  5.
Well after setting the bits up to photograph it is indeed a reseau plate
I was just suprised that I couldn't see any marks at all its only if you get the light just so you can make out a grid of marks.
The camera and back I bought was a package of sq +wlf+2 backs + 40mm lens
I wanted the lens mainly so I wasn't too concerned about the camera and backs

However the back in question has 2 added bolts to its right hand side which mate up to 2 lugs glued to the body so that when the back is installed its not removable easily.

Its all been well done

I'll test the back with some film in to see what the RP does

  6.
I have bought from ebay a 6x4.5 sq back for 220 film that was how it was advertised.
The photo was of the back where it clearly says 6 x 4.5.
however the film insert is marked just 220
Is the film gate meant to be square?
the insert should be 120j or 220j right?

or do i have a standard 6x6 220 back?
any help or pointer would be appreciated

Ian

  7.
The lens stops at 3.5
the seller doesnt know why it has that aperture ring on it
I think its been repaired with the wrong ring
It certainly looks exactly the same as the 80 i have already so i may swap the ring over
That has a delaminating group in it which is why I bought a replacement

  8.
Hello there
I have just bought a 80mm bronica sq lens
assumed it would be the f2.8 lens
It arrived in excellent condition however the aperture ring is marked 3.5 whereas the legend round the front element reads f2.8
Has it the wrong adjusting ring? or was there a 3.5 lens and the front is wrong?

Ian

  9.
Could anyone who has a SQ range of camera be so kind as to supply me with details of the battery cover sadly gone missing on my SQ-A
A photo in plan and side view and accurate dimensions would be great
