in response to a couple of these. I have tried with the sync cord (to the shoe mount) this works. I have been able to (as always) fire my sb800 and sb600 without issue (rulling out shoe issues) lastly the transmitter does drive the receivers (since when I put the test button they fire the recievers/flash units) it seems as though something is wrong with the transmitter I guess. I tried the transmitter on my D200/D300/D70 -without luck.

Dan I have tried with and without the cord ... perhaps the transmitter I have the shoe contact is bad in some way, thanks

Anyone have success getting this to fire without sync cord to transmitter (firing from hot shoe directly)?

loved the rice/flower petals shots ... some of the best I have seen - THOUGH... I would say you should make sure to rear curtain/slow-sync on those - as you the trail (of the rice etc) goes the wrong way...

SB800 and Quantum Battery

<p>just a note on this on I use the quantum 2x2 with SB800. It works ok. Mostly what I have noticed is that it still discharges the batteries and I have to periodically replace them... during the course of an event (typically when the cake is being cut or during brides dance with dad etc)... it's really frustrating because the only way I know how to rectify is remove replace adapter cord, cycle power and cycle camera... <br>
anyone else with this experience ?</p>
