create a mask and copy the selection inside each tile and paste it to a new layer. turn off the
origianl layers. you have your original and your cropped images are exactly the same size.

save for web is deadly.............. when used for printing. It is great for web albums. Obviulsy
the more you compress the image the worse it is going to look. I have gotten superb prints
form the fuji "you pick 'em" kiosk on a 4mp camera. 6mp is more than enough to print that
size as long as the preserve the original image as much as possible. Hopefully you always
preserve the originals. try and try agian until you get a workflow that works for you and your
needs.

I maybe mistaken but I read somewhere the end of the e-mac is near. Not that matters apple
makes great products. The big deal for me is crt vs lcd. Also, invest in the superdrive.
Backing stuff up to DVD is much more effecient than to cd-r. I own a g4 iMac and a
Powerbook, the best of both worlds. With a baby on the way I am going to move the iMac into
the baby's room for movies and music. Then, purchase a new g5 tower for the office as I am
getting more freelance to justify the expense.

or heres what a search turned up http://share.studio.adobe.com/axQuickSearchSubmit.asp?
txt=polaroid&allprods=2&submit1.x=22&submit1.y=1 there are so many choices

as already said simply duplicate the layer, on the top layer adjust the levels to get the
desired look colorwise then use the gaussian blur filter (for better blur control) then drop the
opacity of that level to the desired amount...... and just incase you mess up there is still
always a untouched file underneath....explore with layers you can do so much more.

join adobe studio exchange it is a great resource to all ps users. http://

well i seem to be in the minority but image editing on any late model powerbook/ibook is
pretty painless. Of corse if you can afford more ram it helps in any computer. I would not
trade my 15" powerbook for anything....except may a g5 if they are ever produced.

I suggest the Classroom in a Book if you have never used the software before. I learned the
basics back with PS 4 using this book. You may also want to visit a local Super Chain
Bookstore and browse the different titles and read a chapter or two of each. This way you can
pick the title that suites you as an individual. Just a bit of adivce with PS.... It is way deeper
than you could ever imagine.

I was told by a slaesperson that the lens shipped with the d70s is different than previously
shipped with the d70. She said that it was going to be with a plastic mount and therefor
lighter. I went ahead and bought the d70 but not on this factor. I was jus twondering now
that the d70s is shipping is there any truth to this?

Thanks for the reassurance.

I just unpacked my new d70 package and started to fill out all the extended warranty cards,
the porblem is they all state that they must be sent in within 10 days of purchase date on the
receipt. I ordered it througha web dealer and I choose ground shipping. It was shipped on a
Firday and did not get her until the following Friday. Now 1 week later I am 4 days over. My
question is do they take into account shipping times? I know I should have filled them out
right away but I have been too busy to even unpack the camera. Thanks for any and all help.

i second lynda.com not just for ps but the array pf programs you can learn. all for 25 a
month. one book costs that. I am a visual learner and books put me to sleep. they offer a few
freebies to get you started try it out and see where it takes you.
-
Andrew,
Thanks alot! I guess I will try it out.

I will probably get the Nikon remote, I very rarely venture into non-oem territory. My
question was really directed to the fact the eBay remote has so many buttons that if they
offered some super power functions..... a man can dream can't he.
-
Andrew,
Did you get teh one that has the 4 directional arrows and 2 other buttons? Do they have any
other functions? Thanks for your input.
-
Has anyone ever purchased or used these "universal" remotes. They look like a car wireless
unlock/lock remote. They also offer it with some sort of fiber optic cable attatched to act as a
relay so you can be behind the camera to fire the remote.

I am also in the same boat. After reading the many posts regarding this issue, I was in a local
dealer and they sales person was showing me how the Canon was shipping with a cheap
"lightweight" lens. It had a plastic mount. Please tell me the 70-300G has a metal mount. the
sales person had suggest the Tamron 28-300 f/3.5-6.3 XR Di. Its a little more money, I have
no problem paying a littel more if I get more. I come from the professional video world and
am making the leap into the still world. I have always followed the "buy name brand" path
with professional video equipment, but I am beginning to feel as it is different in the Photo
realm.

As previously mentioned an iPod is a great solution. The 60gig photo accompanied with the
Belkin media reader allows you to save quite a bit. Then drop them onto a either a drive or a
ftp server when you get into a town with internet access.
