1.
I have used overnightprints for about 5 years. I just checked moo.com and can't see how anyone could make those numbers work. Also at overnightprints you can have gloss on the front and none on the back. Makes it easier to write.

Kevin has a good point about giving away cards. If you are doing portrait work anyone you come into contact with could be a client and should be given a card. It is not only the cheapest form of advertising but can also be the most effective.

 2.
I agree about the larger images. You might consider using white text on that black bg. I do art shows and hand out alot of cards. Sooner or later you or someone else is going to want to write something on your card. You might want to redesign the back with some white space.

 3.
Thanks for the response. I have been using metallic paper for about 4 yrs now and love it. I didn't put the site because I didn't want people to think this was spam. I came across this site from an ad in Outdoor Photographer last month. bayphoto.com. They print right on aluminum and make some awesome claims. I think it must be fairly new.

 4.
I have ordered from ezmatts for a couple of years and had no problems. I use the matt backing with them. You might want to order a hundred. My shipping was the same on 100 as 50. I just tape the corners of the print to the back of the matt and slip it in the bag. The bag will hold the backing in place. As far as prints you should be able to fined them around 10 to 15 cents. I use Costco. As far as the bags I order sizes from 5x7 to 20x30 from clearbags. I would just go ahead and get the bags you need from ezmatts.

 5.
I sell 4x6 matted to 5x7 for 10.00 and three for 25.00. Nintey percent of the time people will purchase three. You are going for a price point and 20 to 25 is what most people want to spend. You won't sell tons of large prints but I show framed 18x24 and 24x36 canvas. I get my matts from ezmatts.com and bags from clearbags.com. It cost about 75 cents for a matted 4x6. Last week we sold over 200.00 worth of them. My next step up is 12x18 prints only. No matting. I put some cardboard behind the print and put them in a clearbag and let the cust. take care of the matting when they have it framed. I wouldnt bother with t-shirts ect. Take your best shots and show some big. Canvasondemand.com has some good deals plus they drop ship. By the way sign everything. It looks professional.

 6.
My two best sellers are an Aspen grove and some Columbines. I have used the Orton effect on both of them. So they are sort of an abstract. After that it is my Aspen fall leaves and two barn pictures. I agree about the color. That not only brings people in it is what sells. I think you do have to sell. I see artist reading a book in the back of the booth and wonder why they even bother. If you can't get excited talking about your work you should be doing something else.

 7.
I just returned from doing an art show In St. George Utah. It was a long trip (8 hrs each way) but a beautiful drive. With being outside of my comfort zone and rain in the forecast I was very nervous. Friday had good crowds but just average sales. Saturday started out raining and things looking pretty bad. Then the last 4 hrs of the show just took off. It wasn't my best show but more than I had hoped for. Talking to some artists, many did as well or better than last year. I Hope the trend continues thru the rest of the year. I will start doing shows in May that I have done in the past to get a better idea of how sales will be this year. I would like to hear if anyone has done any shows this year and how sales were. I take my hat off to the city of St George and the St. George Art Council for a very enjoyable time. If I am lucky enough to get juried in again next year I will be there.

 9.
I have been doing shows for three years now. I would forget about the greeting cards and sell 5x7 matted prints instead. I started out with Photographers Edge cards and found that not only do 5x7 matted prints sell better but command a higher price. I sell them at 10.00 or three for 25.00. Most everone buys three at a time. The most I have sold at one show was 27. I get the mat and backing from ezmats.com for less money than Photographers edge cards.
