    Phases of the Hoop

          4

The image is a composite of the model including the bottom "mountain range" that is multiple bodyscapes.

The inspiration for this image is an image on bigstockphoto by contributor Kagenmi I think the title is "Phases of the Earth's moon composed into a time-lapse series." Much thanks to Kagenmi for the wonderful image. Please consider purchasing Kagenmi's images for your next project.

    Hi Jennifer,

Thanks, this shot location had at least three different light source tempatures. I am very happy with the results.

    thanks

    Hi Jennifer,

Thanks for your intrest and your feedback. The visuals you describe were done on purpose, to give a different look from the others in this set.  This exposure, and the post processing done to it, resulted in  one of my favs from this shoot. In the gallery you will find similar shots with different looks.

    Thanks

I appreciate all feedback, each viewer who responds has a story to tell. I am a portrait photographer and as such I look to provide my clients will images that they will cherish. Sometimes that fits into the expectations of the world around them and sometimes not so much.  I would not take the same path these two have chosen but I very fortunate that everyone i shoot is not like me :)

This is actually their favorite image. I thought it was too simple. The attraction between them is reflected in the capture and I am very proud to have taken it. I am certain they will cherish it for many years to come.

    The Dock

This is a great start but this image has a significant technical flaw. The fill, while it does create cross lighting, is also creating strong uplighting from the subjects perspective. The fill source is too low and not bringing focus to the face.  The effect is startling and the same one that you get then you hold a flashlight under your face while telling ghost stories.

The under sides of everything is lit stronger than the top sides, nose, chin, chest, arm etc...

One way to fix this next time is to have the fill added from camera right,  or even better a larger fill that starts camera right.

If the fill was created, not by you but by the location/building or some object, consider blocking the spill light, or adding more to the camera right side.
