The B&W shots are stunning. Perhaps it is because you can get closer to people than animals, but the compositions of the shots with people are overall much better than the wildlife shots.

I used the exact same film when I was in Rome, and it worked out beautifully. Enjoy your trip and eat as much gelato as you can!

Northern Italy and Rome are beautiful, and Bavaria is postcard-like. My favorite part about both places is the Alps (ARE the Alps?), and especially the little villages that are seated in pockets throughout.

Brad, if you can, go whale watching out of Bar Harbor. It is an amazing experience because of the great photographic opportunities, and also because during the lulls in "whale action" people chat with each other about their camera equipment.

If you plan on going anywhere near the Vatican (which I am sure you do), you will want color film. The Swiss Guards' vibrant uniforms are world-famous and beautiful. The mosaics will be lackluster in B&W. St. Peter's cupola begs for color - both inside with the intricate artwork, and outside (if you climb all the stairs - well worth the energy) for the vistas. Also the Spanish Steps are wonderful, as the people's clothing colors add vibrancy to the scene.
Most all enjoy your trip. Drink it in!
