    I'm honestly not sure you will get the shot with that lens. Try renting a pro level, or at least better lens to see the difference. Also, when you shoot with florescent lights you have to shoot shutter speed at some multiple of 60. They have a cycle that oscillates with electrical current, and turn off and on every 60th of a second. This is a back lit shot, which I usually try to avoid. Try using a white plastic laminate with constant light from above, without the light underneath. You may still get much of the luminescense without the blowout. And focus manually. Nice challenge, though. I might give it a try.

    It is certainly well shot. Hard to shoot against backlighting like this. I do suspect a bit cropped. I could not frame a subject so well.

    Don't crop the shot. It gives both human considerations and artistic perspective to the shot. An old white male walking away from a hardworking black man is a huge part of the American story. Crop the right, if at all.
