I am considering Dimage Scan Multi as well. I am fed up with flatbed scanners! Epson 4870 was my hope but frankly, I cannot get the same amount of information from 6x7 slide with it which I easily got from 35 mm slide using dedicated film scanner @2820 dpi!!! Even after multistep application of unsharp mask. This is unacceptable. 1100+ dpi of Dimage Scan Multi, I am sure, will give more information in the final file than so called 4800 dpi of flatbeds.

I used to own both S7000 and D70. The noise level is definitely lower in D70, but S7000 optics is surprizingly sharp and can stand competition with Nikkor 24-85 which I have. I also noticed that Photoshop CS converts S7000 raw files better than the Fuji RAW converter, and 12 Mp files converted in CS look "less interpolated" and more film-like. I've sold my S7000 because I could not tolerate the noise level.

I've compared the S3 and D70 performance in RAW mode here:

I still love my new S3 but D70 in RAW mode has exceeded my expectations. In JPEG mode, S3 provides clearly better results, and the extra dynamic range in JPEG mode is visible almost everywhere, not just in extream lighting conditions.

Hi to Oleg from Oleg!
Considering the crazy speed of development of everything in the digital world, I am curious what is your current perception of the DP20P in terms of dynamic range, color depth and high ISO performance. How well would it stand competition to (don't laugh, please!) the 35mm sensor implemented in Nikon D3/D700?
Thank you!
