  1. Hello, I was wondering if anyone had heard about either of these lenses?

    1- 28-70mm f2.8-4 Zoom Lens Pro(retail $599)

    2- 70-300mm f4-5.6 APO Zoom Macro super 2 pro lens(retail $599)

I got these yesterday but they seem to be nicer than what I expected.

I called the store and the guy told me that these are newly introduced

lenses by Sigma that were just released to the United States. Does

anyone know this to be true? I thought it was a load of crap until I

tried to find the 28-70 Zoom lens PRO and had no success.

  2. I will be primarily doing portraits of my Daughter, family and

    friends. I was looking at getting a A Nikon 105mm f2.5 AI/s manual

focus lense but was not sure if it was compatible with my D70. Does

anyone out there currently use this lense or know if it is compatible?

    thanks,

    Arturo

  3. Ok, a little background. I just got my D70 body and I was holding off

on buying lenses until I did a little bit of background on them. I

will be doing mostly portraits of my Daughter, friends and family.

This is what I was thinking:

    1- A Nikon 50mm f1.8 D AF lense or maybe a 50mm f1.4 AF

    2- A Nikon 105mm f2.5 AI/s manual focus lense(will this work with my

D70?) or should I go with something like a 105 F2.8 D MICRO AUTO FOCUS

    TELEPHOTO LENS.

I would like good glass that will suit my need's, on around an $800

budget for hopefully two lenses. Thank you for all you help.

  4. I just received my D70 body today. I am fairly new to photography

and decided to hold off on buying a set of lenses until I did a

little more research about them and the particular purpose they will

serve. I am mainly doing portrait photography of my NEW BORN

daughter and friends. I have read that an AF 50mm f1.8 would be a

good starting point for portraits but I would like some other

suggestions as well as some technical reasons behind your opinions.

Any and all help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your

    responses.
