I've had problems when putting labels on dvd's they no longer play properly.

My buddy seems to be happy with printable media, although the price isn't as friendly...

Buy a better camera than that guy and than call him back and say no thanks... lol

My Elinchrom 400BX's still allow manual turn on of optical slaves when my CS's are plugged in.

Whether they will trigger that way is another.

Easy for me to test later on...

My CS's came with the cables I needed to use with my Elinchrom 400BX's.

They work fine...

While I won't tell you which, $425 sounds high for a 20D.

I sold my mint 20D months ago with maybe 11,000 acctuations for less than that...

I guess it depends on your budget.

I'm sure the AB's will do what you want them to for the occasional portrait, etc, plus some.

I concidered buying them, but recently went with Elinchrom for other reasons including modifiers, accuacy, etc.

It's unfortunate that PCB decided to put the AB website in read only as this would have been a good resource for you to check out. I believe there is a flickr site based off this now.

In any case, I think you would be happy with either.
If I owned AB's, chances are I would not buy their modifiers as I prefer the Elinchrom and Photoflex modifiers I have. I did however buy their simpler battery operated CS's and they work great at a good price.

Sorry that I personally can't be of any more help...

The CyberSync's work well in general.
(I have 4)

From what I've read, they work fine with Canon Speedlite's, but haven't read anything on Nikon's...

Canon has a loyalty program that gives you a 6 month unconditional (supposedly) warranty.

I sent in my old S230 and Got a G9 in its place for half the cost of a new one at the time.

They G10's may in in circulation now on that program.

Do a search for "Canon Loyalty Program" for a phone number and details...

I owned the the DL's for a short while and traded them up for 400BX's.

I just liked the better build and the tilt mechanism was stronger as well.

Heavy modifiers and DL's don't often mix well.

POTN talks quite a bit about this very subject...

bhphoto.com and amazon.com.

Just about everything I buy comes from bhphoto because of price.

I find however my 2 DSLR's were not bought from bhphoto as I got it a bit cheaper through Amazon and Dell at the time...

Weren't there coupons out there from Canon for the 5D that gave you a $200US discount on 5D repairs?

I have two of the Morris's as well.
The bracket is very strong unlike some others.
This strength has a drawback that it is heavier than others.
I would also recommend a Bogen 2905/026 umbrella swivel as it is very strong...
Another option are the collapsible kits from Lastolite which are nice, but expensive...

Too bad those things are sooo much money.

Cool idea, out of reach for most...

I haven't had any problems with my CS's on my Elinchrom strobes.

I hear they work well with Speedlite's as well...

Or you can buy replacement batteries at sterlingtek.com for cheap... :)

Yeah, 0015 looks like the one for a light stand.
This would be used for a shoe mount flash on a lightstand or similar.

You need 63 or 64 I think.
Did you order that by mistake, or?

That stinks.
I think the biggest bummer is you will be delayed another few days.

Can you tell us which you bought?

Also, make sure the hot shoe adapter is on completely...

The 7" Grid's from alienbees.com fit the Elinchrom 7" grid holder without problems.

Myself and another fellow photographer are using them without problems.

For the $100, you get 4 grid's too...

On a seperate note and thought...

I find it funny that Adobe forces you to upgrade PhotoShop to support newer models RAW files.
The old Epson P2000 displays the RAW files just fine...

Places like BH will tell you whether they are the fan cooled model or not.

I know BH's should be, Adorama I don't know.

My DL Kit from BH in November did have the fans...

Interesting.

I haven't tried my 40D yet with my P2000.

However, since it just copies files, it shouldn't be a problem.
Viewing the RAW files, is another question.

I usually have my camera setup as RAW + small jpg, so I guess it wouldn't necessarily be a problem for me...

No offense.

I think we have all had a situation where we bought something and lacked that last tid-bit thing to make it work.

I recently bought studio strobes and forgot to buy the gel's.
Now I must pay full price shipping.

Live and hopefully learn... :)

Tell Josh what YOU would have done with his $800....

My water heater sprung a leak the day I was supposed to go on a first blind date.

Well, that never happened.

Now that new water heater is 7 years old and I'm horrified to think what will happen...
