1.
I agree as I am still mourning the loss of my Fuji E900. I got a Nikon P5100 as a replacement (until my wife crushed it) but was never entirely happy with the length of time it took to focus. Am now shopping around and thinking of a low price Lumix. If the E900 was still about that would be the one for me.

  2. Hi

I need advice. I lost my beloved E900 at a festival a couple of weeks ago. I have a D80 but found the E900

superb as a carry everywhere camera. I liked the quality, the pop up flash (so I didn't have to change flash

mode for non-flash photos), the speed, the size, price, low light capability and loads more.

I have been looking for a replacement that is comparable but also cheap (less than £125) but nothing seems to

live up to it. Are there any alternatives to buying a new old E900?

I have no use for long lenses etc. but might be interested in anti shake and better low light capability.

    Any suggestions?

    Many thanks,

  3. Hi

I have recently been experimenting with the D80 set to manual with a variety of

lenses including an old Ektar (I think), the old junk lens pictured with the

toilet roll and D80 in the gallery below, and a 105mm lens from a Mamiya C3.

Have now upgraded the toilet roll to a lightproof fabric tube attached to the

camera with part of an old extension tube and gripped round the lens at the other.

Focusing is by moving the hand. Get some nice odd photos with interesting

    planes of focus.

I would be interested to hear if anyone else has tried this type of messing

about with their DSLR and what the results were.

  4. Agree. Just dumped my Nikons to go back to OMs with a 2N and an 2SP. The 2N is far nicer to use and goes everywhere with me. With the 35mm lens the experience is pure and simple and makes photography a pleasure.
