  1. Hi, Dave!

I don't come here too often any more either, and was never much of a contributor, but I still lurk sometimes, and I always make it a point to visit your portfolio to see what is new.  This makes me happy, to think that trees dream in glorious technicolor!

Thanks for the comments, Christal and Tom.  I have been a little MIA lately here on P.N.   Christal, thanks for the comparison with Michael Mancil (although not really deserved!)   He is one of my favorites here, and I think I see which image you allude to in his gallery.   Drop by again!

    Hi, Diane.

This is not really a critique so much as a note from a fellow NC gal.  I live a couple of hours west from Salisbury.  I am enjoying your Christmas ornaments.  I have a few fish myself. and like colored lights rather than clear.  I collect glass ornaments, Radko, and antique glass as well, especially Shiny Brites.  This is a fine fish.  The photo itself is not quite sharp, but still enjoyable.  I am looking through your gallery and will comment again later or tonight if I can stay up late!

  2. We did the Tennessee Aquarium instead. We went to Rock City many years ago. There are not as many barns that have See Rock City roofs as there used to be. Thanks for the suggestion, the gravel is a bit too bright, but it was white gravel and not grey.

Love the color and the impressionistic feel of this. It works on many levels. It is not what I normally picture when I think of China, but now I will!

  3. Thanks, Christal.

The exposure here is 4s @ f/13. My daughter is the artist. I did clone a bit of her feet away, but when darkened a bit the rest of her disappeared by itself. I have some where she is more visible, especially the ones with glowsticks. The sparkler makes more crisp, defined lines. We are going to do this again soon, we had a lot of fun.

Very nice light and appealing shot. I have to say, that is one big dandelion! Lovely image, if I were this little girl's parent I would be thrilled.

I have a fondness for weird roadside attractions. This is about a strange as it gets! Quirky and unusual. The post processing accentuates the cartoony appeal for me.

Nice exposure and DOF. We had a retired greyhound, 1992-2000. He was a jewel. looked a lot like Cosmo, this picture makes me miss our Chip!

  4. Ha! These are Magpie. Wish I could take credit for the funny title. On Flickr this is called "Roadside Snacking". My daughter captioned "Mmmmmm, spinal fluid", and I thought it was funny and borrowed it for P.N! Thanks for the comments.

  5. Nice rustic scene. It seems to be tilting a bit to the right. I might think about cloning away the power line as well as straighten it a little. Lovely color and inviting scene, the essence of a New England fall afternoon!

    Joseph,

This is such an inviting shot, I can smell the crisp air as I stroll down this little dirt road! Nice composition and color, too. But to me, many times the feeling a picture invokes is the real mark of success. And this one is a winner!

    Fabrizio,

Thank you for the visit to my portfolio. This image caught my eye immediately. Nice tone and texture, a different approach to a fruit bowl! I like this a lot.

    Best regards,

    Tammy
