  1. Thank you everyone for the appreciation and comments!

Dimitris: there are multiple reasons for the expansion of infertility... women postponing having children because of their career (and, when they finally want to, their body doesn't respond the same as when they were in their 20s), the sexual transmitted diseases contracted by teenagers at younger ages, obesity, and even the fact that couples that can't conceive naturally will pass their problem to their children (when infertility is caused by DNA defects).

Infertility is set to double in Europe over the next decade.

One in seven couples now has trouble conceiving naturally, but

Professor Bill Ledger from Sheffield University warned this could rise

    to one in three.

"Young people of today will become tomorrow's patients in infertility

clinics," said Ledger (quoted by BBC News).

According to the American Society for Reproductive Medicine,

infertility affects about 6.1 million people in the U.S., equivalent

to ten percent of the reproductive age population. (Wikipedia)

Thank you everyone for your appreciation <3

Alex: I appreciate your suggestion. Sometimes I too fear that I'm adding too much detail. However, in this work, the details, in my opinion, are necessary both for the symbolism and for the balance of the composition (the "leftovers of civilization", as opposed to the alive inhabitants of the "beautiful world" as seen through the glass)).

yes, you're right, but when emotions are involved, distances seem much longer...

(it all stated with an assumption that I actually never checked on, and when I realized it wasn't quite exact, I decided to leave it that way anyway...)

  3. Inspired by Anathema's "Pressure" ("A Fine Day to Exit", 2001).

This is a song about remorse, past sins, guilt. They are a crown of

thorns to be worn in repentance, towards an improbable forgiveness.

  4. I love ivy and poppies. I often use them symbolically in my work. To

me they symbolize pure, wild nature, in all its vital force, although

delicate in appearance, overtaking, conquering abandoned places. I

take it all in a symbolic way.

    Comments are welcome and appreciated!

  5. Included in the 23rd Neosynthesis Chronicle: Forces of Nature

If you divide the picture by its diagonals, each slice represents one

of the four forces of nature of the ancient Greeks: Air, Water,

Earth/Sand, and Fire. They are determined and born from one another in

    a perfect circle.

    Comments and critique welcome!

Thank you for your comments, I appreciate a lot :)

The reason why the arches aren't completely visible is because I wanted to keep the image format square (to sustain the idea of symmetry). If the arches were complete, they would have added too much in length, not only in real size, but especially in the suggestion).
