  1. I think they were saying that the 60mm makes it about a 93mm on the DSLR series the lens is built for! WHat would you go for?

The 100 2.8 or 60 2.8 macro would the 100 work well e=with people and flowers?

I know it would work w/ my 35mm Rebel that might be the bigges thing!

  2. does any one have information or feed back on this lens!

I think it is new and only for select cameras 30D, 20D and RebelXT

I was looking at getting one but do not know anyonw with one!

    ANy help would be great!

I think the only down fall is that it is made for these cameras only!

  3. Not Really what most are saying is that low ballers that have full time jobs and are shooting the odd wedding on the weekend are lowering

peoples professions wadges there for they can no longer do what they love for a living because the market is saturated w/ amatures lower the insustries cost lowering there wadges. It would be like the company you work for bring in people that can't do the job as good as you but are willing to learn and work for 1/4 of the wadge!!

  4. You are all right and all have valid points!

What it comes down to is the digital world.

The lower prices and the computer that take the thought work out of the job!

Thats why when I do ports. and other work I like to shoot a few rolls of 35mm. Show the customer 40 great shots that have not be digitaly altered and they respect your work to another level.

Ask them if uncle Bob can shoot 8 rolls and have 95% turn out the way you wanted them to. I put money on it that if uncle bob had to shoot in film he might get 30% and he would probably not even consider shooting the wedding because he would not be able to look at that little screen on the back to see how his pictures are turning out along the way!

  5. I also agree I will be seconding my first wedding in about 2 months.

When My friend asked me to be the primary I never hesateted to say No!

I think one need first knowledge of hoe to operate a camera! 2nd Time spent watching and helping someone that specializes in the area of weddings. My answer to my friend was that wedding pictures are something

forever and there is no way I want to be part of those memories if they are going to be unhappy when they look at there pictures.

I also know alot of people do not care so much about pictures any more as they are leaning more to the video man as society becomes lazy they would rather slid in the cd sit back on the couch w/ a beer and watch the whole thing from start to finish rather then flip through picturs.

What they do not know is that those cd's will one day wear out or break. media player will change andthere memories will be lost.

A PICTURE IS FOR EVER AND WORTH 1000 WORDS IN 150 YEARS! WHEN YOU KIDS

KIDS KIDS KIDS ARE LOOKING BACK AT THE FAMILY TREE!!
