I love the effect of the luminous river running through the snow, and I also like the effect of the backlit trees. I wonder, though, if it's best to combine them like this? The shot seems a tiny bit cluttered, and the viewer can't always decide if the trees are framing the view of the river, or if the river is a backdrop for a study of the trees.

Worth getting up early for, though...

I think the exposure's about right for this one, for which the OM-4's

metering can take much of the credit. Possibly a bit too dark in the

bottom left corner, although there's slightly more detail in the

original slide than the scanned image.

Composition's not bad, although arguably the left edge of the boat

shouldn't intersect the right-hand edge of the reflected buildings.
