  1. Found a good price on the PANASONIC DMC-FZ5K Lumix 5 ($340) and do

not have a backup for my 20d , was going to get an XT or another 20

D for backup but am now going to save for the 5d but still need

something to tide me over probably about a year have read extensive

reviews on this camera and it will fill my needs just wanted to get

any opinions from some of the intelligent people here<div>00EShc-26894484.jpg.7e9cfa20f430d99b9b36b3c488871c15.jpg</div>

  2. listen nothing untoward happened, plus she has shots of me and is a Nikon user so the ramifications could be deleterious to my honor, that being said here's a little taste (Yakim that D70 felt like a toy compared to real camera, has been awhile since I handled one, plus your responses to questions are always spot on, and this thread had some humor, thanks for all your advice)
  3. last nite i was shooting against a nikon girl(D70)i know that my rugged 20d impressed her enough that we moved to the bedroom she is really good at posing subjects and we were trading off taking shots of each other for one series i wet and toweled my hair then took off my shirt after she got on a chair above me for two shots and said can you put the look on your face that you had before and I said well I'd probably be more comfortable if we both had the same amount of clothing on - it was on from there - I never thought of the weight of my camera once -but the freakin focus hunting on that 50mm 1.8 was killing me -shots i got were awesome looking at them this morning I was like did that really happen -yeah it did I have the images
  4. I am also looking at both these. I have come to the conclusion in my mind to go for the Canon. But I have two doubts. The Canon came out in 1999? Has there been any revision of this lens or is it 5 yr old technology. I have heard that it is soft. My 70-200, 50 and even kit lens are sharp as a tack.
  5. thanks for your help on this tried refining down a little

2 vivitar 283's/ paper back drop homemade pvc stand/ drum stool/2 light stands/ light meter/ hotshoe cord so I can position flash any where/ foam poster board for reflectors and to build soft boxes

or I might just get an alien bee set

17-40 would be awesome also but I am not going the lens route I need to start doing this with what I have make some money yeah go for the glass

  6. Hi Y'all,

I have mulled over several options for my goal and I think it is

time to get some advice from smart people. I'd like to have a good

enough set-up to produce people, pet, senior, glamour etc. portraits

along with some event photography and maybe art work (product

shots). My setup currently is 20D, kit lens, 50mm 1.8 and 70-200 f4L

sigma super 500 Dg flash, remote release and tripod. My budget $700,

I have ruled out getting another lens for now although the 24-70L

would be awesome. I am thinking to get this running I need:

    1.stroboframe and hotshoe cord

2.another flash to use as slave

    3.another tripod

    4.omnibounce or flash soft box

    5.chroma key back gound

    6.reflectors

    7.posing stool or bench

I appreciate any specific suggestions on equipment brand or

suggestions on other equipment I might need to fill this out.

I have learned so much from this forum. Thanks in advance.

  7. this is the next lens on my list, image quality is supposed to be superb, am shooting a wedding next month and this is also supposed to be the wedding shooters all around lens, is it worth it? shooting a 20D, kit, 50mm 1.8 and 70-200/f4L, sigma super DG just need a bracket and back-up body and ready to go
  8. the 70-200/f4L is a good lens for the money.I am getting spectacular shots outdoors. May have to get a bracket for my inside shots. The 1.8 50mm is great for low light. I need to get the 24-70/2.8L to replace the kit lens and for a wedding coming up anybody have any input on it?
  9. The 20D offers you the option of marking your files as original as they come off the camera. I am not sure in the journalistic world they can verify an unaltered photo but I know in contests there has been verification. I find I take better images if I keep in the back of my mind while shooting "how much time is it going to take to edit these shots" ususally with that motivation I get more keepers. Though blasting away sometimes gives you that one in a million.
