On the bottom of my charger for a Canon 1D it says what the input max wattage is: 19 watts.

A picture is worth a thousand words. I actually wrote a thank you email to someone who tweaked one of my pictures and reposted it in a critique. The learning on that one example was worth the price of my one year subscription.

It can really depend on what you know and what you need to learn. I agree that the two books from Bryan are a good start. After you read them you can check out Bryan's online course and get feedback from him on your photos, which can be even more help. The best way to improve is to shoot shoot shoot, and get feedback, like from here and/or from a professional like Bryan.

Interesting list. Different from the original list, which seems to be more How To books versus books with great photos. Another interesting point is that the number 2 book on the original list, Understanding Exposure, is by Bryan Peterson, who also has another book on that list, Learning to See Creatively. What's interesting about that? Well, many of the pictures I've submitted here were critiqued by him, and the ratings here are in some cases the very different from his ratings. Interesting. By the way, Bryan gives some great online classes and reasonably priced in person workshops (hope that's okay for me to say here).

I vote for the duct tape and super glue. Other than that, if you are looking for a long term investment, once I got used to an L series, my 28-135 IS is gathering dust.

I've been using two 4 Gig drives for over a year, and 50,000+ pictures. No problems. I avoid dropping them, especially when they're out of the case (I have dropped them a few times with the case on.)
