The butterfly and flower were taken just south of Domincal, Costa
Rica. Thanks for any comments.

Scan of a 35 mm along with some editing. Thanks for any comments.

You caught the expression and feeling of the moment. Good job.

The quetzal lives in the montane cloud forests of Panama, Central America and southern Mexico. Its spectacular plumage, more intense than any photograph can show, glitters an iridescent blue and green. The adult males have what appear to be long tail feathers although they come from the wings. When the male takes off, he falls backward to protect these feathers. They have been called the most magnificent bird in the Americas. Few who have seen them doubt it.

Male resplendant quetzal in a wild avocado tree. The quetzal has a
body about the size of a pigeon and the wild avocado is the size of
a walnut. What do you think?

No problem Scott. I have the same snow in my OKC back yard and possibly the same set of cardinals. It gave me a bit of time to relax with Photoshop!

Not all people who rate pictures here get to see the comments. You have a lot of superb photos in your portfolio. My comment probably expressed more my view of fusing things in a bird/nature/natural area. I just believe this sets your photo into the category of Digital Alteration not Birds.

It comes out with a great picture, but only rated it low because there wasn't an indication of a fusion of two pictures in the title. I felt cheated. I felt like I was set-up, just like watching a biased perspective on the evening news.

Male Resplendent Quetzal sitting in a wild avocado tree. Location
of the photo QERC Field Station, San Gerardo de Doto, Costa Rica.

Male Resplendent Quetzal taken at the QERC, SNU Field Station, San
Gerardo de Dota. He would perch in a Lauraceae tree (wild
avocado). They are shy, but also like to hide in the cover of the
leaves of the lauracae tree.

Great shot.

The quality of the juice isn't the same as the tomatoes so it appears to be set-up.
-
It brings back memories of snow storms. With a bit more snow you wouldn't have to see any of the poles!
-
Hmmm, I can smell them too!
