if you want a lens in 70-300mm
u have the following options.
1. tamron 70-300mm Ld macro ( the best optically in this focal length in your price range)
sigma APO AND DL 70-300mm ( 58mm filter size) same as tamron but A biTT low performer
tokina 80-400mm (best build quality)
nikon 70-300G most crappy
nikon 70-300ED same as tamron
-
i know that i have asked about these lenses a number of times . i personally have no intention of buying crappy zooms . I want to gift it 2 my little brother (14YRS) which should be his first lens with a nikon F65.
i personally have done a lot of research but no definite solution . the optical quality is more or less the same . i only want to know whether the 10 element (in sigma) or 9 element (tamron ) will matter.
-
which one will u pick?
1. tokina 80-400mm
2. vivitar 100-400mm series 1
3. tamron 70-300mm Ld macro 1:2
-
is it possible like the D70 to trigger the shutter using a ordinary
tv remote?? if yes how??
-
in the $150-$225 price range which of the following lens is the best
buy for wildlife photography (specially mountains). (lenses will be
used with Nikon F75)
1. vivitar 100-400mm series 1
2. vivitar 70-300mm series 1
3. tamron, sigma , nikon (ED) 70-300mm
please advice.
11*4 will be the prints (in most cases)

does any body can give useful reviews on these lenses.
compared to other lenses like sigms , tamron or others how do these
lens perform in the field of macro photography?
-
arnab can u explain a bit why not to use a TC with Tamron 70-300mm Ld
-
i was actually thinking of tamron with a 1.4x teleconverter. i think that will me much better than a PN 11 as i will loose my metering as arnab pinted out.
what do you think??
-
after doing a lot of research and reading lot of reviews i am still
in a no mans land
i gave my 70-300 G nikon to a friend of mine.
i need something in that range.
my options are
1.Sigma 70-300mm f/4-5.6 APO Macro Super II
2. Tamron 70-300mm Ld macro 1:2
3. nikon 70-300 AF ED

i was using a velbon CX mini tripod . with enough working distance. i will show u the results . but i have to scan the pictures. so please give me a day to do so. i was also thinking of the same . the problem is else where . there was not enough sharpness. but the magnification quality was awfull REALLY.
-
aranb
i tried the extension tube with my 60mm and the results were awafull.
so i need to know that if 6T really works as with its specifications
-
do the 6T close up lens works practically? i am using a nikon F75
with a 28-100 G and a 70-300 G lens. i am doing close up fotography
specially with FLOWERS. i need a cheap compliment for a high end
nikkor lens. i know the quality will differ but since i am a ameteur
still now that will not effect much.
what are your suggessions???
-
thanks cris for your most heplful answer. it is now all clear to me.
only one question every time i use spot meter would i have to press the AE L button. and in continuous mode do the spot meter will "SPOT"{lack of word} the subject autometically as i move the camera??
-
i know that the spot metering only works in this camera in AE l
mode . but the problem is that the manual saya that only a 12mm
circle could be seen but i can still see the 5 area focusing
rectangles. is this all right
please guide me to properly use the spot metering feature in this
camera. when to use the spot metering over matrix and centre weighted
metering??
