What Ken said might be mostly true for still imagines where you can stand there for a long period of time to adjust your equipment to get it right. However, without a relatively modern/robust camera/flash light/lens, I don't see how Ken (and anybody else) who claims "camera does not matter" can take "the moments" of running kids, sport events, etc.? Camera (and lens, flash light, etc.) does matter when time comes to catch the moments of your lovely ones who are simply too young to wait for your old equipment to catch up.
