1. Well said and true Jim, and just like the real world, don't you think?

It seems too, that timing is everything. Images posted for critique might get good ratings on one day and not so good on the next.

I find the comments valuable, especially when the commentator has posted work. I cannot proof my own written work and a critique from an experienced eye is just as valuable with images as it is with an editor of written work.

Helmut Newton said that a nude without a face is "somehow dishonest."

The same could be said of ratings, don't you think?

  2. Thank you Tom. Your response was quite helpful. I spoke with Eddie who was very helpful also. I will be signing on with Printroom as soon as my new website is ready to launch. And thank you for your response to my question regarding motivation. The coincidence made me wonder. This is, after all, the dreaded internets...

    Thank you again.

  3. Thank you Greg. I noticed that Tom Lee has no photos on photo.net and now you, too, are posting with internet "specials" and no photos on photo.net. I appreciate your response and Tom's. Photographers without portfolios here must have some motivation. What is it?
  4. Alexis, You are quite welcome for the information you were able to use from the link I posted refering to your trolling activities. Original thought is not a capacity generally associated with trolls, so it is no surprise that you found the link useful. Here is another link you might find useful. for Alexis

And once more: For frequent visitors who can afford it, subscriptions are not optional.

  5. James,

While you have so much to teach, it seems you might have something to learn about the Internet, and as an appreciative student of your photography lessons, your question strikes me as an opportunity to show some appreciation.

    1. Your work gets attention on Photo.net.

    2. You reply to people who comment on your requests for critique.

    3. Your pest is pestering for free.

You have what is referred to as an attention-seeking Internet Troll on your hands. Stop feeding it, and it will go away to seek attention elsewhere.

    Pity the fool.

    Cheers.
