Plain old plastic bags that you get from the grocery stores work great. Cut a hole in the
bottom, and stick your lens though it. Also, really big ziplock bags do the trick as well.

Wow! This is the second post I've seen about this guy in 2 days! Another post on another
forum linked to him talking about his strict rules for wedding clients.

It's gotten to the point where I am getting these emails a couple of times a week. I rarely
read past the first line.

I can do an album for you for that. Contact me if your interested.

Bridal portraits are really a southern thing. Totally regional. Her in the south it is custamary to have the portrait at the wedding reception.

Thanks for all the great responses. I am afraid of Pictage, it's as simple as that. I've heard too many bad things recently. I already have a fantastic lab, and use LabPrints for online ordering. I looked at Asuka, and their stuff looks really good. Still not exactly what I'm looking for though. I am looking for the books covered in fabric, not one with photos on the cover. I am definately looking at Asuka now though.

I really like the Bonsai books that you can get with Pictage through
Willowbooks. Can someone tell me where I can get these kind of
books through someone other than them? I am really hesitant to join
Pictage because I don't like clients receiving prints without me
first viewing them for quality.
Any advice would be appreciated.

In about a month we are moving into a new home. I will finally have an office to meet with clients. I'm gonna decorate the walls the wedding photos and portraits. I'm gonna put some kind of sofa or loveseat in there with a coffee table with albums on it. I'm so excited. Till now, we have met clients in restaurants. Starbucks, Atlanta Bread Company etc.

Laurel,
Are you the same Laurel Bishop that lives in Greenville, SC. If so I know you.

Single page. The packages are listed on a second page.

I'm using Gary Fong's software I bought from him. It works in photoshop. I custom make all of my own pages, and do not use templates at all.

Be careful with the cookies and candy. The show that I am doing next weekend only allows caterers and such to have food. Even then it has to be approved. I would hate for you to stay up all night baking cookies only to find out you couldn't give them out.
This will also be my first show. It has been an unbelievable amount of work to get ready for. I'm very excited though.

Stacy,
I think we all have wondered the same things. Surveys are a wonderful way to find out exactly what your potential clients want. As far as asking what is most important to them, they probably told you already in the initial meeting. What websites and magazines they are reading for ideas would be great to know so you can market directly through those avenues.
Asking what other photographers they have met with would be interesting. I'm not sure you would always get an honest answer though.
Cookies are cheap and do seem to work well.

I've got one reason why is could be so inexpensive. Nikon offers this lens as an entry into the Nikon optics. When people buy this lens and see the difference between this and their off brand lenses, they will be more likely to buy the Nikons. Just a thought.

I hate to say it but blown highlights is just how it is with the D70. I have two of them, love them to death, but it's just how it is. Film gives you far more lattitude than digital. Have you tried to balance with fill flash?

Another thing, drop the hotmail address and get something that looks more permanent.

I think it's good. I would maybe drop a photo or two though. Not because, any are bad, but because it's a lot of photos to be seeing that one time. Too cluttered i guess what I'm saying, besides that though, it works.

That was the first thing I did when I bought my cams and flashes, turned off the beeps.

Has anyone used the Tamron 28-75 2.8 on a Nikon digi body? If so,
how does it compare to the Nikon glass? It looks like a less
expensive option. Tell me what you think.

actually its a Tamrom 28-75. Hows does it compare with the Nikon 2.8's
-
Is the Tamron 28-80 2.8 really that great?I have been looking at this lens as an alternative to the pricy Nikon.

Long shutter speeds. About a sec should be fine for something like this. Make sure you use a tripod.
