<p>Having collected forty plus pre-war FED Leica model II copies, I've never encountered one with a round range finder cam. FED cams are usually oblong or rectangular with rounded ends. I have a Leica model A and II with strap eyelets, factory added, and have seen others, so not unusual. An interesting oddity.</p>

<p>Some years ago I acquired a Leica II serial #1088**, a number listed for the 1933 production series, all assumed to be produced only in black, according to Rogliatti and several others. This particular body is the early chrome finish and, also has what appears to be factory installed strap eyelets. It is the only chrome body from the black series of the model II I've ever encountered, in more than fifty years as a Leica user. It has the large speed dial with round depressed housing. It appears possible a few of the 108 series Leica IIs may have been produced in chrome to test the waters!</p>

Thank you all, for taking the time to provide input to my question regarding

use of Leica "R" lenses with the Canon EOS 209D, it's most helpful and

greatly appreciated.

I've been a leica camera film user for many years, and own a number of Leica

"R" lenses. I'm considering purchasing a Canon EOS 20D, and using my

Leica "R" lenses, but I've heard there may be some problems with obtaining

correct exposure and focus, as Leica lenses don't have the necessary chip for

the 20D. Would appreciate hearing from anyone that has had experience with

the Canon EOS 20D and Leica "R" lenses combination.
