Thank you all for your great comments which I will of course consider when I will purchase my next macro lens. Regards.

Hello all friends,
I have now a Canon 400D (Rebel XTi) and I am looking for a good Macro Lens with
the feature of 1:1 macro capability, do you have any suggestions about the model
and the price in $US?

I just wonder why don't you plan for an annual conference which gathers all
different photographers from all over the world. This conference will show the
last techniques in digital or typical photography and related equipments and
methods. I have no idea if there are similar conference which may organize
internationally in a specified country in North America or Europe. I need your
appreciated comments and supports. Regards.

A friend of mine has an ultra compact (Sony DSC-P200) and has a problem with its
built-in flash. When he tries to take a photo, the flash is not synchronized
with the moment of capturing the photo. So, he got a dark final photo. Is it a
setting's fault or a malfunction in the camera itself and how can he fix the
problem of synchronization to get a good photo?
Thank you so much for your expected help.

Thank you all for your comments and I did mean to get more specific answers for my post. All I wanted to know was only the impact and limits of photography on people. For me, I am living in a very poor society which has no interest about photography. People think about other essential issues and consider the photography as a luxury. The majority of people at my country does not care about the direct and essential message of a great and original photo. I wanted to know the differences about different societies regarding the moral and ethic message of the photography.
Sorry if I was a little vague and I do again thank you all for your kind contributions to my post.

Are there any specialized institutes for learning digital photography in
European countries (Spain-Portugal-Italy-Greece-Russia) including the costs of
lodging and courses? I am not sure about the North America but the cost may be
more than Europe. I need to get courses in photography including digital field
with adequate costs. I will be appreciated if you will be able to give me some
addresses or links to those institutes. Thank you for your help.

Again another perplexed questions for me. What are the implicit-explicit
limits of the photography for both photographers and society? Also, what are
the implicit-explicit impacts of the photography for both photographers and
society?

Thank you all for your kind and helpful comments regarding my last question
about the EOS system.
I am not sure if you mean by the term IS the Image Stabilization at the lens
itself.
What will be the main differences when you get your photo by a dedicated MACRO
lens and the same shot by using EXTENSION TUBES?
Now, I am satisfied to take into my consideration the following equipments: 1)
Canon 50mm f1.8 lens ($80) since most of you recommended it but I cannot
understand how it could work as a telephoto lens with only a 50mm focal
length? It seems to me a standard lens used for portrait and general
photography.
2) I am also satisfied with the Sigma 17-70mm f/2.8-4.5 ($390) for a wide-
angle zoom lens. There is a note regarding this lens (Not compatible with 35mm
or digital cameras with larger image sensor than APS-C size), what about the
image sensor of the XTi ?
3) For the telephoto, Sigma 28-300mm f/3.5-6.3 DG Macro Autofocus Lens ($280),
what do you think of this lens?
Thank for all replies and for your kind recommendations.

As a friendly suggestion, what do you recommend on the following equipment for
a beginner photographer in the field of digital photography? What other wide-
angle lenses could fit on the specified DSLR for getting better landscape
photos? What about the adaptability of the corresponding AF mounts of lenses
on the specified DSLR?
The digital equipments are:
1- DSLR: Canon Digital Rebel XTi (400D) ($750-800 US)
2- Wide-angle zoom lens: 18-50 mm F3.5-5.6 DC (MSRP: $180 USD at
www.sigmaphoto.com)
Or: 24-70mm F3.5-5.6 ASPHERICAL HF (MSRP: $180 USD at www.sigmaphoto.com)
3- Standard zoom lens: 28-105mm F3.8-5.6 UC-III ASPHERICAL IF (MSRP: $160 USD
at www.sigmaphoto.com)
4- Telephoto zoom and Macro lens: 70-300 mm F4-5.6 DG MACRO (MSRP: $200 USD at
www.sigmaphoto.com)
The general purposes for the whole system is getting photos of landscape,
portraits, architecture and macro.
Thank you for your help.

When they said that the new Rebel XTi has these two disadvantages, what do
they mean by those two main disadvantages?
1) Images on the soft side at default settings.
2) No spot metering.
Could you give me examples about the side effects of those disadvantages and
make a comparison between the XTi and other DSLR regarding the disadvantages?
Thank you. Regards ..

Thank you all for your kind comments are recommendations. Biliana, I do join my voice to you and I have stated above that I have advices my friend to get the Canon Rebel XT or 350D. I am sure that the new digital camera successor from Canon to the 350D will be really great and maybe we should wait for Canon to announce its new DSLR. Thank you again Biliana and for all other professional photographers in the Photo.net

I am not if the digital software supports widely and strongly the saying [Fake
your digital photo, it may not be a true shot]. Could you simply tell me why
could a professional photographer turns to a digital photography? Maybe it
needs a try and maybe it is time for digitizing everything. I need to get your
appreciated comments.

My friend asked me to do her a favor. She is -as am I- a beginner in digital
photography. She told that she chose two DSLRs and want to decide of one of
them. Canon Rebel XT [350D] and New Nikon D80. For me, I am tending to Canon
Rebel XT since it is cheaper and widely used among photographers. The new
Nikon D80 is more expensive and still new in the market. What about the range
of lenses for each manufacturer? Could we say that Canon lenses are more
versatile and widely used comparing to Nikkor or Nikon lenses?
I am not sure if should I tell her that or just tell her to wait to get more
information and reviews about Nikon D80. Maybe it will be better than Canon
350D regardless of its price.

Every time I have a question to ask I know that I am still a beginner in
photography. This time my question is about Image Stabilization. I am not sure
if this feature comes with DSLR and also associated D-Lenses. If there will
not be an IS feature in DSLRs or lenses, what would be the substitute
comparing to the SLR-Like cameras? I found out that also there are categories
of Image Stabilization like the [shift-type] which is mentioned in the Canon
PowerShot S2 IS. If I want to know that for example Canon EOS 350D has an IS
feature or not? And what about all related Sigma or Canon lenses with the IS
feature?

Thank you all for your kind comments on my first question. Thank you also Rebecca for your question which enriches my information about this EOS DSLR. I am planning to not purchase the camera with the lens kit. I will try to get a GOOD wide-angle lens (10mm f/2.8 or 16mm f/2.8). It will be more expensive but it deserves that price since that I am sure I will get more professional shots. Thank you again for your help.

I am not sure if the Canon 18-55mm Lens which is supplied in the lens kit of
the Canon Rebel XT (350D) is a good lens. I mean since it is 18mm that it can
be categorized as a good wide-angle lens which can be used to get good
landscape and nature shots. I want to know what is the relation between the
category of the lens and the range of the focal length? For example, does the
lens EF 28-300mm will work to get professional shots for both Telephotos and
wide-angle views?

I found in the web site [http://www.dcresource.com] the following description
about the DSLR Olympus E-Volt 500:
[ ... there's a 2X crop factor on whatever lens you put on the camera, so a 15
mm lens has the field-of-view of a 30 mm lens... ] Does this mean that a 300mm
lens would have the field of view of 600mm by using the 2X crop factor in this
digital camera?
[ ... I should also point out that the focus ring on all Zuiko lenses is
electronic -- you're not manually moving lens elements, you're telling the
camera's brain to do it. The kit lens doesn't show you the current focus
distance on it, which can be a bit frustrating... ] Does this mean that we
cannot set the aperture manually through the lens itself especially if it is a
macro Zuiko lens?
Thank you so much for all your esteemed comments.

Dear Vid and Anthony. Thank you so much for your comments but as a beginner I am sorry to say that I do not know what do you mean exactly by saying extension tubes or tubes? Could you guide me to a web site which explains photography terminologies? Thanks for help.

I am not sure if the lens [Takumar-A Zoom 1:4 70-200mm MACRO] would fit
perfectly on my old Pentax ME. I will cost me around $65.00 US with its
plastic lens's cover and its holding leather bag. I hope that you can possibly
comment on this price. I want to use it in the MACRO photography but I cannot
find any guide or manual for it. Could you possibly advice me on its current
price, its abilities in capturing MACRO photos, and where could I find a
manual for this lens? Thank you so much for your help.<div></div>

I had scratched the Matte Focusing Screen of my Pentax ME while I
was doing some deep cleaning. I did not know that it is so sensitive
to scratches and it can be scratched easily. I am really afraid and
depressed that it mas cause problems for the quality of my coming
photos. I do not know if I can replace it or clean the scratches
that make the view through the finder not clear. Thanks for any ways
to get rid of that problem and your recommendations and precautions
will be appreciated.

I have got the lens (Cosina Lens 80-200mm F1/4) for my old Pentax ME
but I still not sure in what kind of photos could I use it. Could I
get good telephoto, portrait, and macro photos by using this kind of
lenses or its use is limit to specific kind of photos?
Thanks for help.
6 lenses. Which would you choose?
