  1. Nice exposure, wonderful warm atmosphere and the surrounding darkness serves well to frame your shot. Well, was it that warm last December??? That guy in the shorts, it took me a while to spot him but now I can't keep my eyes off him . . .
  2. You can fool some of the people some of the time but you can't ever fool Len! I suppose I have some explaining to do now. I took the first shot, the one on the left, and then walked past the tree and photographed it again from the other side. So it's one tree and one fence from two different angles and that explains why the light source is coming from opposite directions as well. Way to go Len! Appreciate your keen observation.

Joseph and Sky. This is the gentler side of winter, at the very beginning, last November and not even officially winter yet. In the next four weeks we received between 4 and five feet of the white stuff. Wonderful for the most part. Thank you both for sharing your thoughts on this one.

Lovely fluidity in this artistic composition. Love the colours and the direction you chose for the flower layer it reminds me of beautiful sheer fabric. Her expression is calm, she is like a graceful butterfly.

You had me guessing for a few seconds before I read the title and solved the mystery. I was thinking lats of wood. Interesting perspective and woodsy texture.

Thank you Pulok Cherlyn, Micheal and Tony. Those tones are due to the surrounding dried foliage mixed with fog and early morning light, oh and a little tweak of saturation.

Micheal, I really love your take on it. You are an original.

Nice to see all of you!

Very interesting collage. The vine has a most wonderful 3D effect, the leaves almost pop out of the photo and the wall is encrusted artfully. I'm wondering about the placement of the shovel. Did you consider leaning it against the wall perhaps? anyway just a thought . . .
  3. This has the feel of a painting, nice strong colours. I love how the late afternoon sun set the trees 'on fire', the side of the building aglow and creates those horizontal lines on the street. I have to agree with Joseph about the stained glass look. It's very pretty!

Raymond, glad you like the results, due greatly to my new filter.

Thank you Len for the nicest compliment! Wow! As for braving the elements, it's one of those things you just do when you are surrounded by such a display, you tend to forget that there is snow in your boots. Besides I love it in the country!

I like how you captured how the light outlines the shape of the body and especially pretty how it illuminates the wings. I'm wondering if just the slightest detail around the eye would be in order, maybe a little catch light? Love the black BG, very dramatic. Kim

Thanks Kim. I try to do some editing tutorials once in a while. I find them on the net. U-tube even has some so it makes it easier and more fun to learn. This is the original with simple Levels, Contrast and Sharpening adjustments. I sometimesI wonder if it's worth all the work ;-)
