Sorry to be so late to the party Carsten, I always get great pleasure from viewing your images. Having read the comments and considered Peter's crop, which was in my head too, I have to say that your crop and presentaion is so beautiful and simple. The essence of a good image is simplicity for me, it makes the enjoyment easier on the viewer, your gaze is not dragged around looking for a point to stop on.
I just love the negative space here, monochrome looks best with some good black space, this is a perfect example for me of how to do it and still hold the attention of even the casual viewer. You're grabbed by the dark look and pulled into the visual feast.
To have visualised this in the tiny finder of the Leica is another feather in your cap my friend, it looks like the considered work of a 5x4 photographer.
My hearty congratulations on a marvelous monochrome image.

Great title Dora sums up the image of a preacher warning of fire and brimstone if we don't see the error of our ways.

Love the diagonal of the wings and the unconcerned attitude of the other birds.

Looks like a brave little girl in a scary situation, she's not taken in by the mock attack and holds her ground, lovely candid image from a carnival event (I guess).

If only I could curl up into a ball and get so low down with my subject , the wildflowers. Youth and suple agility makes a hobby such a pleasure, my bones are creaking in protest just viewing this lovely image. Well done Dora.

The caption says it all, the photographer in his environment, cropping the image takes away the flowers and meadow feel of your picture. He's in a field of wild flowers but has chosen one to feature, you have chosen to surround him with his work, nicely done Dora.

So you feed anything that comes along then. a sloth, monkey, parrot and the Irish couple on the volunteer trail. You don't have to do this you know Dora, enjoy it's what you like doing as well as the great candis.

An amazing series telling the story of the baby sloth so well, your animal images are always just that bit different. Not actions shots or set up images, if they were of humans I would say candid portraits, animals have no feelings of looking good for the camera, so these truly can be called candid and also so very good.
Well done Dora, nicely done and you'd have to be made of stone not to be touched by the fragile look of this little sloth hanging onto life with both claws.

Welcome to photo.net Dora, great candid find in the street. They both look old and done in to me, but round the wrong way for work.
Poor horse looks knackered.

Your long exposure has worked really well to produce the smoky effect, lovely greens as well.

I'm happy to be slapped down but hopefully not by thoughtless 3's.

Sometimes in life rules are brocken, nobody died because of my composition and I like it, but I appreciate your time pointing out where you think I've gone wrong. I do tend to live by the rules of composition but don't follow them slavishly.
