  1. Aric,

Behind the takeup spool is a silver sprocket that springs against the paper (or film if it's 220) to feel the film as it's winding on the spool. This is the feature that enables accurate frame spacing. I suspect that when you are dry-firing the shutter, the feeler sprocket has insufficient traction against the empty (and slippery) takeup spool for it to spin consistently. And so you are having trouble getting the shutter to cock with just one turn of the winder. Your 330F seems to work properly with film and so I doubt you have a problem.

The lower spool axle is just free wheeling. The camera doesn't care whether there is anything there--it just needs to feel the film on the top spool!

I've got the C330S, but I'm confident the mechanics are similar to yours since my much-older Yashicamat behaves exactly the same way.

    Aloha,

  2. I got a M645 strap that snaps on perfectly. Must be the same type lugs. I only wish the strap were wider since the C330S gets a bit heavy around my neck after awhile. I suppose I could retrofit the lug snaps with a wider strap but I mainly use the tripod or the handle grip.
