  1. I was in DV on April 8-9-10 2008

High temps in the Mid 80's one day the rest was mid 70's Beautiful

Wild flowers not so wonderful in DV but Great in Alamagorsa Desert

Got plenty good shots but Missed some so It will draw me back once again. Made some dumb errors but got enough to be happy.

  2. Has everyone seemed to forget what the output is?

    Its a photograph.

I have a feeling most folks couldnt tell the difference by looking at the output of a Russian FED5 or a Leica M8.

Seems like the French Wine versus the California Wine blind taste test which the French were blasted.

I am a canon fan, and I like a razor sharp original image.

Some Canon lenses deliver this result well others less well.

THere are many factors in a photograph

    Lens body and film.

I would love to see some 1600 ASA Fuji exposed in a Canon A2 versus an M8 I wonder if one would be able to tell the difference and would the dfference be worth $5,000?

  3. I have both F-1 and T-90

The F1 is tougher the T-90 takes better pictures.

When you see the shot , the T-90 can get the shot now.

The F1 will also get the shot but if you dont have the proper focus screen you wont get the best metering.

The best use for digital cameras is as a light meter to setup your film shots. LIke the polaroid backs.

I will admit lately the capabilty to do HDR with digital can produce images which are as good or better than Film. (for still life and landscape)

When I want a shot that I really love it will likely be with a T-90

The best comprable camera is the often underated EOS 3 which has all the t-90 features plus autofocus.

  4. I have a selection of both Plastic and metal cameras.

You can have both and really enjoy both.

I dont like any of the plastic rebel type cameras because critial parts are made with poor designs.

Like battery door hinges which are made of plastic which just bends no pins or pivots.

This is just inferior functional design.

THe closest thing to plastic I really like was the Canon EOS A2 series..

    Now that is plastic fantastic.

The Canon T-90 is a hybrid and a real masterwork camera.

Similarly the T-70 is a good one with a mix of Metal plastic light weight and automation.

Where the metal and heft count,

Falling down a hillside with a canon F-1 and finding at the bottom that I was damaged worse than the camera.

When you want to take that shot hand held at 1/15th The F-1 will have inertia the rest wont.

The best justification for a Mechanical camera is actually Reliability.

    The work without Batteries.

When I travel I carry both but I would hate to be in some place I spent thousands to get to and find I had limited time and a dead battery or failed circuit.

That fully manual Canon F1n will take the picture.

And the Picture will liely be very sharp and crisp.

Yes its about Taking pictures ,, But the machine matters.

Every design is a balance of compromises.

If you want the best of both worlds in a Film Camera look at the Canon EOS 3 or the EOS 1N

    Heavy Reliable Automated and smart.

Take pictures enjoy know there is a camera available now which you can afford which you could never have afforded 20 years ago.

  5. My Best E-Bay deals.

I think I just got the best lens deal ever.

    Canon 35mm TS f2.8 S.S.C plus 5 other lenses and a Canon AE1 program.. $203.00

Check the price on the TS lens? :)

    Another great deal

canon F1-N with AE finder Buy it now for $29.00

it was jammed. Now it works great. needed a CLA.

Oh and it had no Brassing.. and if you know how easy an F1 n ets brasssed you know what I'm talking about.

I have gotten burned a few times but always on some camera whhere I am looking for the lenses and the guy mis represents the camera body condition.

    So what!

Keep hunting take your time and look closely for the Gems in the pile of lenses.

  6. My 2 cents.

    I have 2 t-90's and 2 F1n's I like them both. For different reasons.

The Build quality on both is superb.

The F-1 has less electronics so you can actually have a camera without the batteries. The T-90 used very common AA batteries so you are not likely to be far from them either.

But should an electrical failure occur you are simply without a camera.

The T-90 however has so much to offer. It's like Canon put every trick in the book and then some in the camera. I have some later EoS cameras too and they dont have the capabilities of the T-90.

Try the multiple exposures on an F1 ...Cant really do it. Try the 9 spot metering..

Both cameras create equally sharp images.

I slid down a mountain holding my F-1 and it faired better than I did.

The T-90 has one flaw called the eee/help problem sticky shutter magnets.

Keep it moving or expect to have to pay someone $100.00 to clean it.

    Buy both, I Did.
