  1. has anyone ever sent in a speedlight to Nikon for repair? i'm trying to figure

out if the shipping cost/repair cost is worth me doing it. the tilt on my

sb-26 does not lock at the 0 degree point after my father dropping it on the

floor. other than that, everything works as per normal. if anyone can give an

account of your repair of a speedlight and cost, that would be greatly

appreciated!! (plz specify cdn funds or american or other) thank you for your

    feedback.

  2. i have an odd problem occuring with my images, or the image data to be

    specific.

first off, i have had my camera(D70s) set up to Adobe1998 colour space profile

for the last 99% of the year and a half i've owned it. however, sometimes when

i open up an image in Photoshop CS, it prompts me of a conflicting colour

space.(i have everything colour managed of course; camera, printer, program...)

so after getting the prompt, i go back to the exif to double check, and sure

enough, it is different, even after checking with another program. it seems as

though the camera just uses sRGB profile here and there when it wants to.

example: i may take 100 images, and 1-3 images may be like that, sometimes

    less, sometimes a couple more.

so my question is this, has anyone ever encountered this problem, or know of

it ever happening to anyone? could this be something big enough to bring to

nikon's attention for a possible service of the camera? comments...

  3. why is it that digital has made things so new for photography for people? did something change? what's the difference between a shoebox and a computer? you want to keep old phots, you keep them. you want to keep crap photos, you keep them. does it matter where they are? people are so concerned about loss now, and backing up of images, thinking that moving them to another location will make things "safer". there is no difference between your house burning down and all your prints going with it, or your computer crashing or someone's fat ass sits on your back-up disk, and ruins all the horrible images that you made. constant debates over this camera and that...

let's get out there people, take some pics, develop/upload, print them, hang them on your wall and enjoy. it better than worrying whether your gonna have these images for a while and whether they are gonna be around.
