  1. Thanks a lot Jonathan for that insight. I also came to that conclusion being the battery weak and all, but I just bought the battery a few weeks back and I did remove the battery from the unit when I am not using it. The battery cost me $13 in Penn. Anyways, if it is indeed the battery, it is scary to know that a $13 battery only lasts less than two hours' use on a IIIF.
  2. I borrowed a few flash heads from friends and I was measuring

flashes from a distance of 10 feet. As I tried one of the flashes,

my light meter's reading display just blinks after taking a

reading. Now, even if I take ambient light, the display just

blinks, after pressing the measure button, and does not give me a

reading. Has anybody had a similar experience with this kind of

meter? Is there a reset switch somewhere? Is my meter busted?

    Thanks!

  3. Thank you all of you for your feedback about this matter. The reason why I asked this is because I am trying to setup a small studio and I am looking for flashes, monolights and the likes to purchase, and one of my basis of buying these lighting equipments is the GN and/or watts-second. I am on a very tight budget and I am not skimping on equipments. I just need what I need, nothing more. I have a 15 feet x 15 feet x 12 feet high space that I can use. Can anybody suggest flash GNs and watts-seconds that I should be looking at? Thanks again!
