Thank you for telling me the type of flower. I'm not a typical flower person you might say. I enjoy taking pictures of them but I don't bother finding out what kind they are. The sheen on that leaf has always bugged me. Once I tried to soften it in photoshop with some success but I really didn't want to mess up my photo. Thanks for the comments.

This is a first attempt with my D70 to do nighttime or long exposure

shots. This was exposed for 30 seconds. Please give critical

feedback, suggestions or comments. Thanks so much.

  1. Nice picture. Great lighting done by the fountain lights. I think though that I would try to CCW the picture a few degrees. It appears the the hotel is tilted to the right. Although, this could be an illusion too because the fountains look perfect.

Okay, here is one of several attempts at macro shooting with a Fuji

S7000. I've enjoyed that camera but moved on to the D70. Please

extend criticism, feedback, suggestions of any sort. Thanks so much.

Thank you for the comments. I actually noticed the problem with the horizon but it seems that when I tried to move the horizon, the rocks dont' look even and visa versa. Very frustrating. I took a shot in Puerto Rico and I got the same effect. The beach looked level but the sea looked like it was curved.. hmmm..

Okay, this is one of my first D70 shots. I'm trying to get

comfortable with it since I've always been on the Fuji wagon. Does

anyone have any thoughts? He's my cat so I love the picture no

    matter what. :-)

Thank you Jim and everyone. I am still in awe of your magnolia shot Jim. I remember commenting on that several years ago..(maybe not that long) and I recognized your name.

I like the photo. I like the contrast that is created with the black clothing and background. To me some parts of his face and hands seem a little bright. I may have liked to see a softer shot. Maybe use ambient light w/out flash? Or if you didn't use flash, a little less light?
  2. I like the color contrast. For some reason it looks like the boy was cropped from one photo and placed onto a canvas in P.S. Something about it just doesn't look right. Nice colors, pose and subject placement though.
  3. Really neat photo. I feel like I've stepped back in time. Nice perspective from the rear corner and you got a little bling off of the chrome too. The only thing that bugs me is that "new" car in the background from the left upper corner. I guess he couldn't be pursuaded to move. :-)
