  1. The picture is a good start, but it looks like you need a faster lense, and faster shutter speed to freeze the action and get a better silouette.

As for equipment. I would go with at least a Canon Digital Rebel 300, the new Canon Rebel XT, or if you really want to step it up go for the Canon 20D.

Event Photograpghy is my specialty from the last few years. I have shot at least 200 events with DJ's and concerts in the last few years. I have been using the Sony F717 - 5 Megapixel camera, but I just got my new Canon 20D and 28-105 lense, and Iw ill be getting the 15 mm lense soon also for wide shots.

Please take a look here EKreating.com for some other ideas and leave feedback and comment also.

You are on a nice start.

  2. Filip,

Iam not sure how to react, since the colors are natural and just from the lights in the hallway. Concerts usually have colored lighting, and you can see in the background on the right there is a blue light down the hall. As for the more in focus guy on the left, I think it adds to the stoned look in his eyes.

I really like the capture if the quiet street. The Transparent frame and Title is a nice touch.

Some noise reduction might help with the sky, and adjusting the color levels a little to get the snow a little more whiter if possible.

  3. Very Similar feelings from the previous comment. I like the image, I would try and remove the crash pad if possibe, just too distracting and it just looks like concrete. tighter crop on right side. Overall a nice job
  4. Total Dali esque feel to it, how can you not like it. Calming blue but dark feeling to it.

any insight on how you did this, since I would liek to learn abstract also. breaking out of the norm is needed for me.

This image jumped off the screen at me. I really like the bright colors. If possible a little sharper image of the people would be nice, but overall very nice.

Please critque my photos also, since I have many in low light and action also, Thanks.

I like it since there are so many ways to shoot this. I have shot some very similar images and adjusted the contrast also to help bring a more dramatic feeling. I would also like to see a vertical shot.

My shot is at the bottom of the "Favorite images you photographed in 2004" link, please take a look, it is very similar .

I have done mainly event photography with a marketing edge in mind for

the DJ's, owners, and promoters. Ia m trying to branch out now to

other categories, but it is nice when you can combine a few hobbies

like msuic and photography into one. Please take a look at my

other Photo Crituques also. Thank you for your thoughts.

I have done many night shots also and with similar equipment, since I have the Sony F717 . A little more detail with the shadows of the Statue of Liberty and Cropping the bottom, left , and top would help some, just to improve the already goood image. Pleae take a look at my Photo Critiques and leave your ratings and comments.
  5. Thanks David. When I go back to visit this year I am going to reshoot this for sure. I will be posting more photos for sure, in the future, I am just trying to get my own website up currently with at least 75 photos. South Beach is a great place for photgraphy.
