If you're in Bangkok, we've a group of Rollei camera user. You can find more detail at www.bwthai.org , I'm also new to TLR but from my friend's Rolleiflex 3.5T, pictures from 3.5 Tessar are all far more exellent and more detail than ones from any camera with 135mm film.

Thanks so much for all you guys! I already have an estimate from John that the cost for everything done (Front & Rear elements surface polished and recoated, Front element de-cemented then re-cemented back, shipping) is still in my budget range. As from your suggestions, I will try get the camera tested with some rolls (color slides and BW films) first to check. Anyway, this camera the lens has no scratch at all since it has been kept for a long time (after lightly use in the '60) with front cap and leather case (also in like new condition), just the coating going to split off (looks like Dry Mud surface) and light haze on the back of rear element that cannot clean off. I will use the camera like this, if the lens are seriously need fixing, I will send to John for service on October when I am in Los Angeles at that time. Thanks again guys!

I have a very nice (actually looks like new overall) Rolleiflex 2.8F with
Planar lens that has been kept for about 25 years (I can say, in bad
environment) and would like to bring it back to our modern world! I sent
the camera overhauled for shutter and film transportation, the camera
now working perfectly. The big trouble is bad coating damage on front
and rear elements of the taking lens. As from the previous forum
answers, FOCAL POINT company can do the recoating to Rolleiflex
Planar lens but I need some advice ; How much would it cost for
recoating 2.8F Planar lens? Is it worth it to do so? And, the camera will
be working and focusing perfectly like it should be? Thank you so much
for all advice post.

I use my CV 40/1.4 Nokton on my M3 all the time. It's also much easier to focus the wider f stop lens with M3 viewfinder.
-
Lens works fine with goggles on my M3 M4 M6. Lens will not work correctly focus without goggles.

Francisco,
I'd just done my M4 recovering myself (kit from Mr. Aki Asahi), less than ten minutes to complete. It's hard to tell the different of the original valcanite and the new plastic composite one, looks really great !

If you will not use the lens on M3 body, I would agree to Wai Leong's suggestions. I have a 'cron 35mm and two 90mm lens for my M4, M6. But if I have to go out with my M3, the combination of CV Nokton 40/1.4 and a 90mm lens is SWEET!

"NO PHOTO" sign (it's getting more and more!)

They are handy, I can cary two bodies and 2-3 lens around to take pictures anywhere, anytime. I used to have SLR systems but need too much arrangement and cannot serve everyday use like M system. Most of all, the ability to connect to people that much easier with such a small and quiet camera.

I have one with single coated and use it on my street shooting. This lens has nice color rendering and not as much contrasty as ASPH 'cron (that I don't like) . For the price, it's a great deal for any system.
-
I used to have 35 'cron ASPH but after tried a pre-ASPH, then I'd decided to get a 4th version 35 'cron instead. For 50mm, I have my old Summarit do the job for that, almost only portraiture shot but this lens also good use all round. I will get CV 1.4/40 Nokton S.C. soon, give it a try if you could, it's much more compact than any 'Lux and costs so less.

Tom, you'd better look for the lens with viewfinder. The view finder alone is hard to find and costly. Voigtlander made the viewfinder to sell with the lens only, you could find spare one but make sure to check the price at cameraquest first.

I used to have CV 21/4, it's the best value to all. Seen less distorsion but never compare to any other else.
Hasselblad Super Wide C and SWC ,which one to choose?
in Medium Format
Posted
Hi, I'm interesting in this Hasselblad with 38mm Biogon but don't sure
which one will be suite my use from the different of model C lens and
CF lens. Most of my work is street shot with ISO400 BW film and I
always prefer the lens with a little less contrasty than the modern ones.
I'm also considering the easily use of camera accessories (filters, hood
etc.) ,can the Super Wide C model use with after market (67mm size)
wide angle filter and lens hood? Thank you so much for any input.
