  1. Congratulations on your entry into MF, Hector!

I haven't touched my 35mm Nikons since I purchased my first YashicaMat, and since have acquired 8 more MF cameras my main one being a Hasselblad. Just to answer one question you had...

22 8,5 : usually you will see the maximum 'f' defined as 8,5 vs. 8.5...don't know why this is, just an observation... the 22=the diameter of the lens, and the '0' with a '/' through it is the Geometric Dimensioning way of designating 'diameter'.

What I'm trying to tell you is this: your lens has a diameter of 22mm, and the maximum 'f'stop is 8.5 .

    Hope this helps,

    Regards,

    Ben

  2. Steve, I'm heading down to starbucks right now, do you recommend the SSumatra, or the Kenya? I'm partial to drinking the Sumatra, so I think I'll try my temperatures a little hotter than you did (and shorten the times)... or do you pour it back into a decanter for warming before drinking? also, I'm thinking from now on we should refer to the liquid quantities in 'cups' vs. mL's... (gets me confused when I'm brewing 10-12 cups, then have to convert to mL's...)

Also, does this mean I have to use stop bath, and fixer in stead of cream and sugar? I mean I like stop bath and cookies as much as the next guy, but I don't know if I could get by without sugar...

    :-)

Thanks for posting this unique idea... I just couldn't help myself,

  3. Hi, this is a somewhat old thread, but I thought I'd comment anyways.

For my (day) job, I'm a service technician. I travel mostly domestically, but occaisionally to Canada, or Mexico. My travel kit is as follows: 1 backpack, 1 pelican 1550 hardshell case, and 1 suitcase. In the backpack, I carry my laptop, necesary buisiness papers, disks, CD's and whatnot, along with my film in the outside pouch. In the pelican case(hardshell) I carry either two 35mm bodies, and assorted lenses; or one 35mm body, and my Hasselblad (and respective lenses). also I carry lens cleaners, plastic bags, raincoat, model releases, manuals, and assorted filters in the pelican. In the suitcase I take (of course) clothes, toiletries, and then also a small(yet sturdy) tripod.

I carry on the pelican and the backpack, and have yet to have any problems(travel every monday thru friday, 80% of the year).

    Hope this helps...

  4. I just purchased the same 'mat, It came with a polarizing filter, and

three zoom lenses(I think they are for a Rollei as they fit loosely).

I, as many of you have mentioned, am wondering about this camera. I have two 35mm's, and have just recently been interested in medium, and large format. I do not have a manual for this, so I may be contacting y'all for info! As far as condition goes, I took it mostly apart, and cleaned it thoroughly. It looks like it'll work, so I just loaded film... Oh, I paid $75 US for it, and even if it just sits in my collection, it'll be neat to look at.

    Cheers!
