1.
Why bother with the packard shutter? You can easily make the exposure using the old "hat trick" method, eg, by holding a hat (or some such) over the lens, removing it quickly and then recovering it. With a bit of practice this should work well, especially with B&W film, which has a wide exposure latitude. . Remember, the packard is not a very accurate shutter in the first place and depends a great deal on your technique. Conversely you could have the lens mounted in a conventional shutter.

  2.
It did not work with an image on the desktop. I copied files to the desktop from G drive, burned at a slower speed onto a CD and it worked. Then I tried again with a DVD, larger files, and it didn't. Previously, this happenned. Sometimes it would work and sometimes not.
When I copy it comes up as an alias. Will that be ok if the original is unavailable? In other words, when I leave the G drive in this location and just have the CD.

Thanks .

  3.
I am up to the last step of a long project -- and now have on my external G Drive my scanned negs & images in folders ready to be backed up on CD's and DVD's, leaving the G Drive in this alternate location. I can copy the images from Bridge to CD/DVD which is on the desktop but after about a minute an error message comes up the the operation could not be completed because of an error code Ox8002006D. Looking in google this error code was common, last entry 2007, but no solutions. Spoke with apple techs who are unfamiliar with photoshop and have never heard of bridge, and have never heard of this problem.
Any experience /help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

  4. I'm using an Epson Perfection 3200 to scan darkroom prints using Vue Scan software. Scanning at a low res 400 -

as doing higher one - even 800 - takes too long and I have many to do primarily for a website but might want to

print some as well in the future.

Now, though, I am experiencing severe banding, and am not sure why. Tried to include a sample banded image in

this post but was unable. Is there a way to do that? Could it just be time for a new scanner? This one, though

not used that much until now, is several years old. My thanks for any assistance.
00R2Zf-75259584.jpg.7a6fb3d583b6d20ad82ba593f613779e.jpg
