  1. Hello.

I am planning on shooting in some of the nature conservancy's here in Indiana.

Most of them do not have hiking paths so I am looking forward to just

meandering around in a number of places I've never been before. In other

words, I will be getting lost a whole bunch of times.

What I'm looking for is a "pocket" GPS system so I when I do get lost, I have a

way to get back to the point I started.

I don't want to spend a whole bunch of money, but I know that it won't be free

    either.

    Suggestions or recommendations?

    Thanks

  2. Try this . . . The smaller your aperature value (2.8, 5.6 and etc....) the "smaller" your depth of field. The larger the setting, the "larger" the depth of field.

Try changing your setting - while using your metering mode - and you'll soon get the hang of it. Obviously exposure time has alot to do with it.

Forget the math! Take a look at the math at the wikipedia link above and tell me you can use that while taking a picture. Bela Molnar is correct - - - just take pictures and experiment.

    PLAY with your camera.

    peace out

  3. Howdy.

I want to edit an action, but I'm not sure how, or if it can be done.

    Here is my situation.

I have an action that I have written text (ie Hello there everybody), set font,

size, turned 90 degrees, then aligned with other layers. It has about 5 or 6

steps. (actually the action has around 15 steps, maybe more, and this step is

in the middle of the action).

I now want to change the written text, and nothing more - let's say to goodbye

everyone. I have been told to delete the first step (writing the text), re-

record the text then drop it in the first position. I tried it and it does not

    work.

    Suggestion?

    thanks in advance.

  4. I am considering getting a bunch more involved in photography, and I am looking

for the good and bad about becoming an LLC. I will NOT be taking weddings,

school pics, and so on. I would be, primarily, taking and posting misc pics

that may, but probably not, sell.

I do travel - like from Indianapolis to Washington - on vacations, junkets

(e.g.) and i understand that these can become write offs if pictures are

    taken. True?

My other "officers" would be family members (that also take and manipulate

pictures) who are out of state (washington). Is that a problem?

You get the gist of what I'm talking about - - so any help and/or advise is

    appreciated.

    Peace out

  5. I'm looking into getting a macro lens, but there are so many to choose from.

I am shooting the Canon 30d with the 28x135. I also have the canon 75x300

series III lens. I have a decent eye, and have a good sense of composition.

My preference are to shoot architecture, nature (not necessarily landscapes),

    street, but NOT people.

I need an idea of what you think I should look into. Budget? I'm considering

the Canon 100mm - so that should give you an idea. Not married to Canon, so I

would consider the Sigma or Tamron, and etc... as long as you give me good

reason to leave Canon (spending a little more to get a Canon lens is okay with

    me).

Or should I just consider an extension?

    Any ideas / suggentions?

    thanks,
