He looks like a real hero, that officer. It is a nice picture but I think it is a shame that his cap is not complet in the picture. I always thought that that is the most important part of the uniform. Without a cap an officer looks like an egg without salt. But luckily the visor is in view and it is a nice decorated visor.
Very impressive portrait with all those medals. I like it, though I'am against the army.

This is a shot taken in a parking garage where school children
embellisch the walls with paintings of subjects which have their
interest. This is their interpretation of how they think America
looks like.

Welkom op Photonet! Wat leuk dat je op deze leeftijd al zulke mooie composities weet te maken. Goed bedacht om dat flesje in het buitenlicht te zetten zo tegen dat groen. Het is een goede scherpe foto want ik kan niet alleen het merk van de parfum lezen maar ik zie ook dat het flesje bijna leeg is.
Ik ben het eens met wat Ada zegt, je hebt het goed gezien; Daar waar het om gaat mooi scherp op de voorgrond en de achtergrond lekker wazig.
Ik hoop nog een heleboel foto's van je te gaan zien. Doe je best!

Nee ik ben hier niet binnen geweest, helaas moet ik zeggen. De tent was gesloten! Volgende keer beter. Groetjes van Tante Thea.

Dit is nou echt weer zo'n kersttafereeltje dat mij onderhand de strot uit komt. M'n hemel, wat ben ik het zat!
Maar ik zit hier niet om over de kerstdagen te zaniken dus ik zal je maar eens een stevige kritiek geven. Hou je vast:
De achtergrond is goed waardeloos, wat een rommelig zootje. Lijkt veel op die rottige bodembedekker van mijn buurvrouw die ze niet in de hand weet te houwen en die als een bezetene onder mijn schutting doorschiet en inmiddels mijn halve tuintje heeft overwoekert.
Aan de andere kant komt dat prachtige blad op de voorgrond wel weer erg goed uit de verf door die al die troep derachter. Ik snap trouwens niet hoe je dat voor mekaar hebt gekregen. Zo fier als dat blad er bij staat. Bij mij in de tuin hangt de hele boel er zo slap als een vaatdoek bij.
Jouw truckendoos is oneindig groot geloof ik.
Maar allez, ik moet mijn aversie tegen alles dat met die opgeklopte sentimentele flauwe kul te maken heeft maar eens even opzij zetten voor dit toch wel zeer aandoenlijk meesterwerkje. Vooral die kleur van dat ene blad staat me erg aan.
Mooi rood is niet lelijk, zei mijn moeder vroeger altijd als ik weer eens werd gepest. Ik denk dat ik je hier maar eens flink voor ga belonen.

Nou Geert, niet zo minnetjes over jezelf, he? Van dat het meer grappig is en dat je Engels niet zo best is.... Kom op man, dit zijn gewoon twee hele goeie foto's. En bij elkaar in een frame is het 1 wel heeele goeie foto! Van mij krijg je er 2x7 voor. Dubbel en dwars verdient!

Deze opname is me wat te sombertjes. Of je poetst em wat op, of je gooit er wat kleur in. Voor deze hoop ellende geef ik je 4/4, en dan ben ik nog redelijk coulant.

Ze moesten ze kielhalen, die lafbekken! Van mij krijg je 2x7 voor dit prachtig staaltje van je kunnen.
De regen komt boven dit pokkenland weer eens met bakken uit de hemel en dat heb jij schitterend weten vast te leggen. Intrigerende landschapsfotografie. Heerlijk, ik geniet er van!

Well IO IO, that's the way I like it! You know what you want and you say it very clear! You did it my way! I love them, people who don't go for only ratings and beseech for critiques.
Listen IO IO: First af all, I like the original effects of the two dark beams. Only that gives the viewer the idea to be in the middle of a movie-scene. All and above this scene radiates a very mysterious and oppressive atmospheer which I like. That is why I gave you a 7.
From aesthetical point of view I thought at the first moment I saw your pic: this one earns below average because it isn't a sharp shot. But considering the title I changed my mind completely because a dream (at least my dreams) are mostly hazy and mysterious. I have very often dreams and nightmares, so I can call myself an expert in this matter.
You see, I can't do anything about it. I like your picture very much. And I can't help it too, I can't give you a bad comment.
I think you don't understand my meaning and the high ratings because they are in a complete contrary to the opinion of other PN-members who judged your picture.
But this is my honest opinion and I stay by it.

Have you used an underwater camera for this job? It looks very realistic. Once I was under the ice, long ago, and it looked exact the same as your composition. Very nice, but bbbbrrrrrr..., so cold! 6/6 -

Nou Marijn, jij bent ook een lekkere, kan ik eindelijk eens iemand een behoorlijk cijfer geven en dan kan ik mijn punten nergens kwijt. Was dit je bedoeling of hoe zit het? Zonde nou toch.....

Ik zei toevallig gisteren nog tegen mijn buurvrouw dat ik liever met gladheid te maken heb dan met mist. Dat wazige gedoe, daar heb ik het helemaal niet op. Ik begeef me graag op van dat lekkere bikkelharde spiegelgladde ijs. Hopen dus maar dat het gauw hard gaat vriezen en we de doorlopertjes weer onder kunnen binden.
Zit er nog een Elfstedentocht aan te komen deze winter, denk je?
Ik vind je foto trouwens heel goed, hoor. Het is niet makkelijk om in de mist een mooi plaatje te schieten. En dit is bovendien eindelijk eens een keer echte mist. De meeste mist die we hier op PN voorgeschoteld krijgen wordt in PS gefabriceerd en daar is geen kunst aan, wat jij?
Je krijgt van mij dan ook de punten die dit werk verdient, 6/7.

Thank you Alex for your comment. Maybe you are right about the ceiling. Aesthetical it could be nicer. But to me that heavy and grey brays interpret the threat and precarious situation we are in here. What's hanging over our heads?

I took this shot in a parking-garage in a big city, somewhere in The
Netherlands: Country were many people and many cultures lived in good
harmony, up to a few years ago. The peaceful atmospheer is totaly
gone since people have been murdered because of bring out their
opinion. The situation between the different cultures is strained.
Even some people in the government propose to adjust some laws. One
of the most important rights we have is the right to bring out our
opinion. That right is fastened in our constitution, and we will
fight to preserve that right. We will fight in the good sens of the
word.
The painting touched my heart and mind and gave me the drive to bring
out my worry.
I love critiques, bad ones and good ones! Tell me what's coming up
into your mind now.

Michael, your attempt has succeeded. Vincent would have loved your creative splurge! Very original with the feather. Color of it harmonizes wonderful with the drawing. Keep up the great work and thank you for the tribute to my beloved great-uncle Vincent.
