Do you think that for B&W is better a matte monitor than the IMAC 24"?

I'm on the same situation. I've tried on the stores both, 20" and 24", and I don't know why, but with the same Monitor

calibration 24" is much better.

My only question is if for B&W work is maybe better a matte monitor than the IMAC glossy.

Some experiences?

I've just buyed one some months ago in apparently cosmetically excellent condition, I have also a Summicron 35 4th generation, and I realize that at 1,4, even at f2 Summicron is better. Yes I have an extra stop, but I don't like the results if I use it, I would try do a CLA, maybe this solve the problem, on the other hand I like very much it's typical Leica design, is a compact and small lens, the new ASPH is big!

Really, I've never used the lenses you mention. But what about if we compare these lenses which others of the same age?

I have too recently purchased the same lens, I also have the Summicron, no the latest, the previous. I like the atmosphere of the old Leica lenses,maybe the actual are so sharp, so perfect?, this lens gives for my taste more warm and subtle tones, and on B&W gives in my opinion more richnes of gray tones.

I've never found a bad Leica lens

Remember, never look like a photographer, take the minimum and quitest equipment, forget telephoto, only very near you discover the reality, for my taste, between 21 and 50, maybe 75/90 at a maximum.

Preview the situation, bracket your focus, work with depth of field aids, be very fast, you have only a fraction of a second...,and be never affraid, smile always if the people see you, talk with them.

Take a lot of pictures and good luck!
