nice hdr image??? i must say, that i wouldnt consider this what i saw with my bare 'eye' type of picture. if you wanted a more 'natural' effect, i would think that you ease up on the tones. the halos on the upper left of the weathered wood sticks out, and my eye tends to drive to it. plus, the clouds dont quite do justice. they look a little pasty and somewhat fake. the dark areas of the nearby cliff and the evergreens really make the transition to the distant plateaus very difficult to follow. it seems that everyone has their own opinion about HDR composition. i guess its just the effects that you are going for. you did compose the picture well.

this was shot with a canon 10d and a 17-40mm f/4 lens. i used a hood with it, even though it probably did not need one. i've noticed ghosting around pictures when the light is low, such as this. does anyone know what causes it (bouncing light in the lens?) and how to help prevent it? i will probably have to photoshop it out. and there is just a little more flare towards the reflection at the water's edge. i was using also using a tripod, and if i recall, the shutter was around 1/8 or 1/15.

Other than the little flare to the upper left of the picture, i like this shot. the sky isnt blown out. nice job.

Hi Jamie, thanks. but, i do think you're right, the back of the ladybug should have been 'lit' up a little more. its a tad on the dark side.
